Like these?! Oh yeah! :DThese are quite sweet too. I really want to go to this wholesale place, Country Basket with my friend soon so I can check out fabric and flowers, my little ideas book is overflowing with... well, ideas and I want to see how much these ideas will cost!

They're both fab! Have you seen those scene setter things you can get? Don't know what you're doing for your photobooth, but they're only about £10 or so and would be nicely kitsch for a backdrop!

My Mum bought me some 'murals', I'll have to have a look to see how big they are! I quite like this one though, although it's 50 ft long, I only want it in one corner! I suppose I can chop it up into little sections to decorate patches of bare wall!

Well I had a fairly successful shopping weekend; York with MIL2B was nice, although we found no decent dresses for her (she bought a few other bits though, she's never had a daughter so got a bit carried away having me pick clothes out for her and spent about £200 on 'basics'!). She's teeny so most dresses she tried looked like sacks on her! She's 5'4", size 8-10, doesn't like showing any cleavage or the tops of her arms, doesn't like bright colours and can't carry off most prints because she's so small i.e. a total nightmare to dress! The only thing she tried on and actually kind of liked is this dress but she hates the colour and she'll look a bit out of place when everyone else is wearing floaty maxi dresses! I did see quite a few 'maybe' dresses when I was in Newcastle with my Mum and SIL yesterday so we may have to go up there for a look. I can see this being quite a long, tedious process though!

Speaking of shopping with Mum and SIL, we've got her BM dress! It's this one! The colour isn't what I was expecting to choose but none of the blue dresses were the 'right' blue and this dress was just right. It suits SIL's colouring, it is the perfect shape for her and she was skipping around the shop in it because she was so happy with it! It should compliment my dress nicely at is has a similar neck line and the ruching on the bust is quite like my dress so all in all it's ideal! We've got her this flower to go in her hair too which is the perfect colour match, I'm thinking of something like this hairstyle for her and she's wearing a pearl necklace that my Mum gave her for Christmas 2 years ago, I got one just like it and I'm thinking of wearing mine so we can be 'twins'!

Ah all sounds good! That dress is lovely, the coral colour is quite unusual but perfect for the setting :) MIL shouldn't worry about looking out of place, as long as she feels comfortable, a maxi dress would swamp her anyway by the sound of it. She sounds lovely and very fond of you.

Aww I did a big reply and then lost it! Birdie, your ex BM sounds rubbish, I can't believe she's having a luau theme. Tell her to tiki off! I really love the BM dress you have chosen, it absolutely perfect for your theme. I agree with Tete that the coral is unusual and fits just as well with the theme. The dress is really classy, and I think the photos look much better when a BM feels good in her dress. It's harsh when you see photos of 3 BMs all shoehorned into the same dress even though their shapes are really different. Sounds like your plans are going really well.

Well we are booking our venue today too - yay! The big day is going to be 6 August 2011. We went for the octagonal library space over the drawing studio basically because it was half the price and also we don't have to hire any chairs, tables and linen. They are also going to do a cash bar for us, whereas in the drawing studios we would have had to do our own. I do like DIYing stuff, but not for such a big day. I'd like to have everyone running around after me for once!

Sounds fab Lara! Have you started looking for dresses yet? Too right about wanting people to run around after you for your big day! I could think of nothing worse than running around trying to organise people and decorations wearing a big frock in between the ceremony and reception... I'd want to be chilling with a glass of champagne being told how fabulous I look!

LOL@ telling friend to Tiki off! We've decided that if she goes ahead with it we'll be going away that weekend... and our other friends will be coming with us! Hopefully she'll get the hint that All Is Not Well!

Tete, I do get on very well with MIL and she's lovely which is nice; she's always wanted a girl (poor OH was their last attempt for one!) so she's quite enjoying having a 'daughter' around now. She's totally stuck in a style rut though and is scared of bright colours, every time I pointed something out that wasn't navy, black or white she hissed at me! I've got a fair task to get her in a bright summery dress! I'm thinking I might compromise with a navy dress (if I can find one) with bright blue accessories if I can't bring her round to bright colours, there's no point making her buy something she hates because she'll just look uncomfortable in the photos.

What do you think to this bracelet for my BM? I said I'd sort out her jewellery as a surprise for her (apart from the necklace) and I saw this in the shop yesterday and quite like it...

Lara, do we have pics of the Octagonal Library? It sounds amazing - yay to getting booked up!

Birdie, that bracelet is gorgeous, perfect to go with her dress! Hehe, my OH's parents had three girls before having him, and were going to 'keep going until they got a boy' - I can't fathom why!!

I tried on a couple of dresses with my BM last year as a laugh, not started looking really tho. I thought of a nice 1950s tea dress as I tend to wear those shapes anyway, but now 1950s is a bit of a trendy thing I am not so sure. I don't want the photos to look really dated, its so funny looking back on 1980s puffball wedding pics now. Something plain but perhaps with some nice detailing. I am a pear shape with a small waist so I will need something A-line and quite structured.

Speaking of which what about something like this for your MIL? Nicely tailored in a neutral colour but with some embellishments? Or this? It's easy to get those nice lacy shrugs to cover her arms, if they are lurex or beaded that might help her add a bit of glam. She sounds lovely, it's great you get on so well.

And now I have been looking at Monsoon, this one is for me!

P.s. I do like the flower bracelet, but it's quite pricey
