Put in all the debts and work out the minimum payment total and then work from there, thats what I did and yes, you are right, in my cash it was obvious Ricardo was coming in first but I was shocked at the some of the others - I should practice what I preach and add my o/d to it though.

Anyway, then I messed with it, adding £100 to see where I should put it etc etc

    You might get a surprise!

If I start paying off my overdraft instead of my credit card it will take me till the end of February to clear, during which time the interest on my credit card will have cost me almost £1k, whereas the interest on my overdraft during this point is approx £225.

So there's my answer! Keep slogging away at the credit card.

I have declined the work night out, I just can't justify spending the money when I'm not that fussed about going in the first place.

And your diligence will be rewarded - well done in being strong and stepping away from the party!

Well hey there is nothing to add to those figures, they speak for themselves!

  • Hey woo woo thank you :-). Happy is happy :-). I find intrest rates awful but I look at which will make me happier sooner I don't look at them costing me cash I just see my figure going down at a slower pace. Overdrafts are evil and banks know the current climate and it's like they are gaming you on I'm doing this so pay me more bla bla bla. Don't focus on the intrest focus on the end result stick with the credit card and if poss add little extra to overdraft when you can. Either way tey all will be paid off eventually and since Britain isn't doing sonmuch for a year or two il enjoy the ride while I can. Xx

I was in the same situation so I now throw £50 plus interest at the overdraft as i'm still using I just make sure I use at least £50 less a month, I'm always worried they will take it away with no notice and Im left to find more money. Like you cant wait to see the back of them however if im offered a 0% anytime in the future I will use it just to get my own back a bit. When I clear my Lloyds card I then have another Lloyds card with £6k to start on so I guess we will be swearing about them for a little whlie yet.

    Hi Herewego

I'm stuck with the muppets for another 1.5 years I reckon. It's nice to know you detest them as much as me!

Oh i do detest them, I long for the day when they send me post offering me accounts and credit cards just so I can write and explain that they cant even estimate interest correctly so why would I give them my money to look after.
I have paid my cards 2 weeks early this month and more than the minimum but I bet the interest is still more than estimated. No other card I have is ever more than estimated.

I think we need to see pictures of the before and after hair! I always wish I could be more adventurous with my hair but it is just long and straight and brown. Quite dull and boring really :p. At the moment, it just keeps having a box of garnier nutrisse chucked on it every month and a half to cover up the rapidly increasing grey bits that keep creeping through :o

I have often toyed with the overdraft problem. Mine is currently at 2k and I hate that it is there as I find that I often buy bits which if I didn't have the overdraft, I could probably do without, but I think I might has well as with the Halifax, it doesn't matter whether you are 50 quid over drawn or 1900 quid overdrawn, you are just charged £1.00 per day :( But I think that my credit cards are much higher APR's than this.

I am not feeling very MSE at all today, have spent £7.99 on an album off ITunes for my OH (well I quite like him as well actually), but in my defence I did do it through Quidco :D. I go on holiday on Tuesday so am getting into that holiday mode. I finish my job on Monday as I start a new one when I come back off my holidays and I was really sad to be leaving my job, but my boss is being a complete plonk and behaving childlike and hardly speaking to me even though this is such a good opportunity for me to get back into legal work rather than being a shop/post office assistant. Anyway, rant over......

When we come back off holiday, I might start my own diary, I have always worried about doing it for fear that no-one would post and I would be rattling round there on my own! :rotfl:
