I have just redone my budget for next year, I had a petrol allowance of £10 per week, which simply is not realistic. I have upped this to £15 per week, which in all honesty is still a bit optimistic!
I don't stand a chance of clearing Lloyds for May, my spreadsheets are showing it as being cleared in July and I am going to change my signature to reflect this.
I still haven't included anything like new tyres for the car, or a little holiday with the OH etc, will worry about these things as and when they occur and change the budget accordingly.
Also by having a budget cut to the bone, I don't ever have anything spare to make small payments, and its these that keep my optimisim up through the month. It's therefore better for me to over budget and send anything left over to Lloyds throughout the month.
I am now £2850 short of my Dec 2011 goal. I am not going to feel depressed about this as what chance do I stand if I don't even enter 2011 with a realistic budget, so it needed to be done!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Absolutely right - better to have a realistic target you can stick to and then make overpayments than to constantly ahve to strive strive strive to survive in budget and feel bad when you fail0 -
I agree. Better to have money left over to send than to feel down cause there isn't any.
You've still done amazingly well and will continue to do so xDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
I do feel so angry with myself today for ever getting myself into this situation. It's time to grow up though and sort myself out once and for all.
My New Years resolution is to stick to my budget and to not have to borrow any money off my Mum to see me through to the end of the month.
I can however borrow money off her for emergencies like my car blowing up (although I obviously don't want anything like that to happen anyway!).LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

I think we all have days like that. But in a way maybe it's good - getting angry with yourself makes you realise how much you don't want to do it again.
I've seen a few people on here who are clearing debt for the second time around and we don't want us to ever do this again.
If we never made mistakes we'd never learn.
Just make sure you come back stronger than ever and really ready for 2011 as whether we make Dec 2011 or have to carry on into 2012 I really think that for everyone 2011 really is going to be the year of kicking this debt into touch.
We know what we have to do and we're gonna do it!!!!
