bah to Virgin Woo!
I'm also one of those dreaded civil servant types. I already know that my unit is likely to become a join service with the neighbouring county so i'm waiting to find out what the time scale is and what's going to be left of the unit to apply for. I've only worked here 3 1/2 years and i've already had to reapply for my job because of a restructure.0 -
Finally heard back from Virgin with regard to my application, the answer was a big fat NO! Am not upset as I knew what the answer would be, it's because I still owe too much they said.
Was this for a BT?
I wish Lloyds told me why I was declined. I owe less than half my annual salary, credit score is 970 (out of 1000) and I've never missed a payment. Their reply was "I don't meet their criteria." So I've asked them to explain their criteria to me, and what part of it I don't meet.

I would find that incredibly stressful Lemon Tree, it must be hard to feel settled. I've been in my job for around 7.5 years now, can't see me ever leaving as it's only 10 minutes from home and I have some good friends here.LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Yeah, I was hoping to transfer my £2898 Lloyds o/d. Oh well.
I bet Lloyds don't even bother to respond to you with an explanation Adam, they suck!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Hi Woowoo,
might be a bit of a tricky subject, but if your OH has good credit is there a chance he could get a BT card, and you could make the payments on it? My DH and I are equally in debt, but if we weren't I would definitely offer to do this for him, as it would speed up the DFD etc?Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
I've dropped hints, which he deliberately ignores lol!
Might tell him about Virgin tonight and see if he volunteers, but it's doubtful!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

At least they told you!
I applied for a Santander one about a month or so before I got my loan and they didn't even tell me no, I obviously wasn't even worth a letter! :rotfl:
You never know, if you leave it the 3 months you are supposed to between applications then you might get it next time xDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -

Would be worth a shot, my Dad this for me and it really helped.
It also means you may be more likely to get one of your own in the future as on paper you will appear to be in less debt xDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
The woman said wait a few months and try again, my Lloyds card should be a fair bit less by then as well, might try at the end of Jan.LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Sorry to hear about the Virgin refusal hun, even when you think you know what the answer is, it's still a bit of a slap in the face
. Have you thought about asking your OH outright? I know men aren't generally too good with hints!
I think I am subscribed to about 10/12 diaries, there are so many more I could read and take part in but I actively try and post on them all and I always make an effort to post on other peoples if they come along and post in mine.
I could be here all night otherwise! :rotfl:
