We have the MoD in Filton very near to where I live, as well as Rolls Royce, so I imagine a lot of people in the local area are going to be suffering.

I just hope we don't go back into recession, I really don't think I can face going through redundancies again :(

Has there been redundancies at your company too then?

On the news they keep talking double-dip recessions etc, but to be honest my understanding of a lot of things like that is limited :o

I think we have to just keep going, keep chipping that debt, and deal as and when if circumstances change.

We'll all be sick with worry if we try to look to far into the future and second-guess what is coming!

We went through two years of redundancies, losing approx 1000 people throughout the Group.

I was on the panel making people redundant, it was really quite awful and I just can't face being in that position again.

Like you my understanding is limited to what I hear on the news and of course that is always hyped up.

No-one here is worrying yet, so I'm not going to either.

What time is your meeting? Will you find out for sure where you stand at it?

What company do you work for Woo or are you not allowed to say?

That must have been awful having to be on the panel, I wouldn't want to be the one making those decisions x

Meeting is at 2, not sure how much we'll find out with regards to specific jobs etc but should hopefully get an idea what direction they're intending to go in now that they know the numbers.

I'll be sure to come on and let you know!

Well, that was a whole load of nothing!

The General came in to talk for 30 mins - end result, they know pretty much just as much as is in the papers, they will let us know more.

    Main message - don't panic!

    Well that's ok, I wasn't anyway! :rotfl:

    Bless you x

Well we'll see how things pan out over the next few months.

I refuse to panic till absolutely necessary! :)

It seems to be coming across like it will be a good 6 months before they can tell us how it affects our jobs individually, so will just have to keep making the most of everything for now.
