Morning all, it's a beautiful sunny day in Coventry. :)
sunrise - well done on the sales. :) Did the magnet cards go down well?
npsmama - keep trying with the promarkers, they took me a bit of getting used to. I must admit I still prefer the copics ciao for skin tones, but they ran out far too quickly so I'm sticking to promarkers.
craftyjuju - great news, I'll see you there. :)
Lou05 - I mostly use cinnamon for hair colour, but I don't see why you couldn't use it for rabbits.
Popkins - I was awake at the time you posted, funnily enough I checked my clock at exactly 3.42 (spooky, lol). One of the dogs woke me up crying to go outside - I was still awake when the 5 o'clock news came on, but couldn't bear to actually get up and do anything productive.

DD just emailed to say she's sold 5 of my cards this morning. :D I know it's only £1 each, but it's all going towards the NEC. She sold 5 last week as well, and wants me to make some Mother's Day cards, so I might try to make a few today and see if I can fit them into any challenges as well. ;)
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

It's sunny here too Ali, I feel I've got so much done today already - hoovering, washing, Tesco shop done and put away, post office (posted book Wifey x)... time for a sit down and lunch I think :D

Off to a friend's for a Chinese tonight so looking forward to some Crispy Chilli Beef (my fave) and lots of chat ;)

    Hope everyone's ok xxx

    Just a quicky..
Wow Rainmac you have done loads today...
    Well done Jailhousebabe DD ..
It was beaut here in Lancashire earlier, but gone a bit cloudy now, as long as the rain doesn't come...
Right, info on QVC - on their craft site on the left side there is last clicks, you prob all know this anyway with you being canny crafters, but at the mo there are 423 items on sale there, 198 of which are at £10 or under.
I think the killer tho is the p&p, but someone may find it useful?

Dashing off now, see you all later.. :)

hi all, I have never tried card making before but I would absolutly love to learn!! We have a hobbycraft 2 mins up the rd and everytime I go in I look round at all the embellishments but I dont have the courage to spend lots of money on supplies when I dont know what I'm doing!!

Just wondered if anyone had any advice on what every gd card maker should have and where the cheapest place is to buy supplies as hobbycraft I think r rather pricey!

    TIA

npsmama & wishfulcomper - have you tried googling promarker tutorials? I seem to remember the passion for promarkers blog having some good ones - I certainly found them helpful when starting out.
sammr85 - :hello: where do I begin? lol :p Some card blanks, paper pads that you like the look of (or download free papers if you have a decent printer), stamps (or again, free digital images), double-sided tape, good scissors (I'm rubbish at cutting straight, so a guillotine helped no end), and then whatever you like the look of (ribbons, gems, etc.). White ribbon is a good investment, as you can colour it to match the card with decent felt-tip pens or promarkers.
Once you decide what you want, post on here and we can direct you to the best websites with the lowest p&p (e.g. the Glitterpot only charges £1 p&p for orders below £10).

  • Hello to all - beautiful day here - only problem is it shows up all the dust :o

Rainmac - you've obviously been sending some cleaning elves my way. I got the washing and ironing back under control at the weekend and the bathroom got a good old clean this morning. Now for the rest of the house...

Sammr85 - welcome to the thread

Wishfulcomper and Npsmama - I love my Promarkers. Maybe check your card and ink - I use Personal Impressions card (really smooth high quality) and Memento ink (waterbased) - I find Stazon bleeds with the Promarker. Check out the workshops at Passion for Promarkers.

Tired Mom - look out for Postman Pat. I popped your stuff in the post for you today, it should be with you in the next couple of days.

Take care all - I'm off to sand a wall ready to put up lining paper - joy.
    Hugs Thriftyxxx
