I've had a lovely start to my day - not only is the sun shining, but I've just got another nice shiny blinky for my sidebar - I came in the top 5 over at Crafty Cardmakers. Hope the weathers being kind to all of you.
PONR - gorgeous flowers, I think I might have a try of these.
It must be the weekend for making flowers as that's what I've been doing (will post some piccies on my blog later). I've been playing with organza and candles to make mine ( see this tutorial by SJ at Little Musings). I've also been looking at dabbling with some of the tutorials here. The only reason I decided to make flowers was that I went to buy some and  at the price (six for £4.50)!
Meant to say - Peppop congrats on your lovely gift, can't wait to see some of your makes!
Hassy - how much willpower do you have? I would've had to get someone to hide it from me!0 -
Hi, sorry I haven't had the chance to catch up on posts but I just wanted to pop on and say a belated Happy Easter to everyone. This is pretty much what's been happening in our house since early yesterday morning... :EasterBun
We've had a busy but fantastic weekend. the safari park was fab. I finished my mum and dad's easter present literally at the 11th hour, it's on my blog.
Also done my MSE challenge card. Managed to fit it with 7 other challenges too
I've got a very messy house to tidy today and lots of ironing to do:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Hi everyone, just popping on for a quick visit as we are going to Edinburgh tomorrow until Thur for Jacks Birthday - so won't get on - ooh I'll get withdrawal symptoms - wot no internet!!! Got loads to do want to get house tidy - hubby thinks I am bonkers but am sure you ladies will understand about wanting house tidy while you are away;) (or is it just me!!).
Lovely makes on blogs.
wanna b - congrats on your new blinkie!!!:T
rainmac - your cross stitch is fab!!! I've not heard of that company before for patterns but might have to check them out!!:T

Morning ladies oops, no, its afternoon!!! This clock is still 2 hours out!!!
Marg You are right, The Emporium is next to Sainsbury's, it is a very unusual eatery as you can actually purchase the furniture or pictures or furnishings... they have a nice shop underneath too.
I haven't been to Dawson's, is that a craft shop? I can picture where 'Taste' is, I will give it a whirl when I next go to Clitheroe.
I told Flourgirl about Dawn Bibby's in Oswaldtwistle and Carole's in Oswaldtwistle Mills.
The TobyJug isn't open every day, but well worth visiting when it is, in my opinion, but then again, I love tea shops and drink gallons of tea..
Thanks for the tutorial link, Iam a dur  I know what SU stands for now... hangs head !!! The lady has an interesting take on using inks on her embossing dies something I will do eventually when I am eventually allowed to use my bug...
Ponr Gorgeous flowers, I must look for the tutorial link now... I might be a while...;)
Wannab The flower tutorial is brill... what gorgeous flowers,. Congrats on your new blinkie
I don't know where I get my will power from ... shame it doesn't stretch itself to help me stop eating puddings!!!
Rainmac Your x ctitch is loverly and your card is gorgeous.. How did you do the words on the bottom?
Ali b Have a brill time in Edinburgh, it is on my places to visit list.
Don't know if this has already been posted, but beadsdirect.co.uk have 10% off semi precious sale beads and also 10% off non sale items... don't know what their prices are like or how competitive they are, but the code is 33EAS at the check out.Self imposed crafty stash ban: started again 22/8/10 1 whole month stash free!
I must not buy stash, I must not buy stash, I must not buy stash!0 -
ali.b - no you're not bonkers I do the same, my neighbours, who keeps an eye on our place, house is always spick & span so I have to leave ours fit to be seen! Enjoy your trip!
Rainmac - Fab cards!
Off to blog some of my recent makes & craftygranny's ATC.0 -
Hi everyone, long time no post! I haven't been able to craft in awhile due to ill health, but I just bought a embossing heat tool for the first time and LOVE IT! I'm embossing everything!
I also went to Paper Mill in Braintree on Saturday and bought some bits, as well as a paper pick and mix, which was awesome! Got loads of gorgeous colours.
I'm running out of card blanks - where do you all get yours from? Is there a particularly cheap place? I'd rather buy them in bulk (say 50?) than only a few at a time in A5. Last time I bought an Anita's pack which was good, but just wondering if there were any cheaper?
Also - I'm going to Somerset on holiday this year, and was wondering if anyone knew of any craft shops in that area? There aren't any big ones around where I live, just small ones and The Range, so was hoping there may be some in that area? Everytime people mention one they are up north!"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Hassy - Sadly, Dawsons isn't a craft shop it's a sort of posh harware shop !!! small local independent department store - for a crafty fix there's an art gallery called The Platform across the rd from it that has lovely unusual arty things at 'arty' prices. There ?is/was? a craft and wool shop up the hill from the Emporium almost at the Castle but I think it's closing down - "interesting" rather than bargainous.
I've never been to Oswaldtwistle Mills!
Jazabelle - I get mine from craftwork cards.0 -
Marg Thanks for the info on places in Clitheroe..
Ossy Mills is quite an interesting place, along the lines of Boundary Mill I suppose, but much, much smaller and on one level. But no M&S or big names.. There is a Stockley's sweets factory that you can actually go around and watch them making sweets.. It is a Mill that has a lot of history for the town... You can get some really good bargains there in the way of bedding etc. Carole's is also a good little craft shop, they sometimes have people doing their thing there, like Sara from Crafter's Companion is going there soon and Debbi Moore was there recently..
If you were going to Dawn Bibby's it is worth going there for a visit. There are 3 eateries there too!!!
Looking forward to seeing your new stuff on your blog..
Have you been to Fleetwood shopping outlet? You can get a loyalty card for there and there is a Papermill there too...Self imposed crafty stash ban: started again 22/8/10 1 whole month stash free!
I must not buy stash, I must not buy stash, I must not buy stash!0 -
Jazabelle - I get mine from craftwork cards.
Thank you, but they only seem to do packs of 10 for £2. Anita's is around £4.99 for 50, so think it will cost too much.
Wait, no, they do packs! I was being blind as usual."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Hi everyone, I hope you're all enjoying your Easter break. So many pages again, not sure if I can manage to reply to everything
. Let's try.
For those who have been away/going away, hopefully a good time by all with good weather.
Jazabelle - sorry to hear you've not been well, hope things are better now. I tend to buy some white basic card stock from the local printer, just give him a sample of what I want and he finds something to match. I then cut to whatever size I want but you need to then buy the envelopes. I've also bought the boxes of 50 from The Works when they're on offer, usually 2 boxes for £8 or something.
ali.b.123 - I also clean the house and leave it tidy before I go away. There's so much washing/ironing when you get back that the last thing you want to think of is cleaning the house too. Works for me!
PONR - Gorgeous flowers, I looked at the tutorial but she said they were quite bulky and probably not suitable for cards, perhaps I'll try and make some smaller ones.
Marg - you asked of OH is a naturally slim person. No, not particularly. He's normally 11 1/2 stone (5'8" tall) so slightly on the chunkier side. He's now 9 1/2 stone so his clothes hang a bit, so does his skin in places :rotfl: . Hopefully his weight will come back up to normal, trouble is he has no sense of taste at the moment, he can't even taste chocolate so he gives it to me ....... shame.
Sorry, can't remember any more.
Loving everyone's makes, have commented on blogs. I've blogged a ruby wedding card I made over the weekend, made a couple of other cards but not quite finished them off yet.
I've made a couple of purchase too, will be back with details as some of you might be interested in a bargain.0
