Me too - oh has the most amazing knack of just "not seeing" the state of the house

LOL I know exactly what you mean, mine would have the same decoration forever if I didnt put my foot down! I promise I'll take it easy all, our kitchens only little and there are lots of fiddly bits so I will be sitting down mostly anyway - will keep it well ventilated too! seeing as we have rain forecase all weekend I thought we may as well get something done indoors!

Thrifty Put a comment on your blog.. not a nasty one honest.. how long does it take for it to be accepted? Haven't come across one like that before.. I can't read my comment so don't know if it has been accepted or not?

    Hiya Hassy

I have my blog set so that I read comments and then "publish" them on my blog. A couple of the challenge blogs ran "Say no to word verification" campaigns - I find it a great way to keep up with any comments that people write.

Sorry it took so long to publish - I was out last night for a friends birthday, treated myself to a Steak Diane. It's years since I've had a steak - gorgeous it was too :D

My husband suffers with that affliction as well but it is not just the decor!

That is useful to know about the word verification, I am still at the point of putting my blog together so will look into that.

Marg - Thanks for PM will find out more today and let you know.

just added myself to the list, but don't worry about sending a card because at the moment i can't always make cards.

    major rant time!
FIL has bipolar and it has flared up so to speak, we are getting texts at silly am, from him and from random people he meets at silly am. he is texting family friends and people he barely knows. he keeps asking for help and for someone to talk to. we live 70 miles away and we drove over yesterday and met with BIL and SIL. he has left his partner claiming she is having a break down and evil, when infact she is the nicest person on the planet. says leaving his exwife2 was a mistake and this is his punishment. he normally hates her. also claims other son and daughter don't care. son has just split from long term GF and daughter training to be teacher. we met hm last night and he had us thrown out of the hotel in the end. although the staff were very understanding about it and understood that he was ill. he just refused to accept that he's ill and won't listen to anyone. he has a job interview today and said that was his main concern, and he needed a calm night.
the problem is the health team has signed him as well as he can appear normal for short periods of time. and as he isn't a danger to himself or others then the police won't get involved.
he is a very intelligent man, but i wonder how much is the illness and how much is him being selfish?

anyway back to craft!!! driving home now and going to hopefully make a card to calm down!

Mine too!! And your steak sounds yummy

cg - sending you hugs. It sounds like a really difficult situiation.

Sending massive and soothing hugs your way.

I have had this problem so many times where Adult Mental Health services would not listen to the family (my son has Aspergers with associated mental health problems). I can sort of see their point in that the "patient" has to see there is a problem and want to change. However, it makes it hell to live with - the family are the ones left dealing with the trainwrecks and continuous fallout of their loved one's illness. I don't know how bad things have to get before they intervene and I certainly don't want to have to go there and experience it :o

Lots of love to you and your OH, Thriftyxxx

    Morning Ladies

    Hope you're all ok?

I'm on holiday now for two weeks (yippee) my daughter is off school now too for hols, but my son doesn't get his hols until next week (in the meantime he's off with college on a trip to Iceland and I'm frantic with worry! lol)

Craftyjuju - I love your bracelets, they're fab, and what an excellent sock monkey tutorial too!

I showed it to my daughter, who has decided to go try making one, however she doesn't have a sewing machine, hope she manages without using one? I'll post a pic when she's finished it - lol - whenever that might be!

Another quick post from me lots to do today!

Gemma & Thrifty - Glad it's not just my DH then!

CGC - So sorry to hear about FIL - I have seen with friends the damage it does it's never just the person with bi polar that suffers. (((Hugs)))
I see you've added your birthday Thank you - Just for my records can you confirm that I can disclose your address?

I note you've said not to bother sending cards 'cos you can't always make them. You aren't the first to say this, I'm in that boat too! :)

I don't know about others but that wasn't my motivation to 'do' an address list. Being on either list doesn't mean you have an obligation to send a card to everyone on it. I have no intention of organising a birthday card swap club! Just as in 'real' life you send a card to those you can/want to.

I just thought that a master list would make life easier if we wanted to send a card to someone and then have to appeal for their address 'cos you haven't got it and don't want to spoil the surprise by asking the person for it.

Hope that's made it clear for you all (and I haven't upset anyone by stating, as clearly as I can, how I see it) x
