Making cards - Ideas for beginners (part 4)

Dragonllew - congratulations lovely card and super prize
Skiergirl - Your card was great and at least you didn't cut off your scallop like I did.
Glittermum/Craftgranny - Have ordered those Tinkerbell stamps, I'm justifying them with the fact that I will have lots of little girl cards to make for DD's friends. Only problem is I have no ink pads yet so must go look what I was advised re ink for using with promarkers.......
The-Wife - Not sure if you can remember I think it was yourself that kindly sent me some flowers, I used one on my cake card. Can you tell me what make they are and where the best place to get them is? Also if someone can point me to cheapest place for card candy as I really love it.
JHB - Thankfully we now have one of those old fashioned ceiling airers that you pulley up to the bathroom ceiling so I am able to get a full load on it. It is all the pants and socks I hate.
I'd just like to say that the name Tired Mom comes from the fact that DD has only ever slept through 5 times in her life (when ill) and she is 4 next Tuesday. She gave up naps at a matter of months old and goes to sleep late and wakes 2 or 3 times a night and starts her day early. Well for the last week she has slept through on 5 out of 7 nights, how excited am I!! Just wanted to share that:j

WOO HOO tired mom :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
fantastic news! I can't imagine what 4 years of no sleep is like i barley managed a few months each time with my two. Well done you for coping.
Now i'm going to ask what was the advise for ink and promarkers? do you need particular ink or can you use any?
drying pants and socks - we have a multi peg hanger thing (can't think of how to describe it sorry) from Wilkinsons that we put socks on. Can probably get about 8-10 pairs of socks on it (pegged on) and it just clips onto washing line/airer.0 -

Lovely pink card rusty – the image is so qute.
Beautiful card MacMa – you have been really busy. Love the pink card for your GD.
Well done on your win Dragonllew.
Just updated my blog with a few bits and pieces if anyone wants a looksie.
Still really busy, but am now off work until next Wednesday so will try to catch up with blogs tomorrow.
For those that have asked the new job is going OK – it’s a bit like being an office junior again waiting to be give jobs, but I am sure that will change in the coming weeks. I can’t get over the fact that they don’t have email, internet or a franking machine! The people are great and there is no stress to the job whatsoever, so I think it was the right thing to do so that I can recharge my batteries, since I am only working 3 days a week. My house has never been as clean and tidy as it is now!
Off to Alton Towers on Sunday for a few days, so am just hoping the weather stays dry and snow free.2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -

I have one of the pants and socks things and like the idea but they keep breaking, it was really cheap from the market, so will try one from Wilkos.
Before children I used to sleep 9 hours a night but Erin seems to take after my mom's side, some of whom survived on 4 hours a night!! Put it this way it's a good job she is so cute and if she had been a first born she would have been an only child! Thankfully she didn't do the colic and reflux that her brother had I think the combination would have finished me off.
You have to be careful if you are going to colour the pictures in with promarkers that the ink you have used to stamp doesn't bleed and ruin your markers. The ladies on here kindly told me which ones I need to get and now I need to go and find the posts, I'll let you know when I find them ................

Charlie23 - Found it:-wanna-b-rich wrote: »My friend borrowed my Promarkers and used them with Stazon, the inks re-acted and the black ink wrecked my Promarkers (it soaked into the nibs). When she queried it, with Letraset, they advised not using any alchol/solvent based inks, but to use dye based inks. When I went to buy replacement pens, the lady in the craft shop said that I should never use Stazon and recommended Versamark inks.:(Tired Mom I've been playing with printing digital images and using promarkers for a while. It does seem to make a difference what paper/card you use. The smoother the better and leave it to dry for a while or give it a quick warm-up with heat tool. I am playing with some digi images at the moment, so I'll let you know how I get on.
I have had my new issue of it this morning and I was just reading a tip in there about promarkers and blender pens - and they said one way you use it is to hold the coloured promarker nib against the blender pen so it 'takes on' a bit of colour, then use the blender pen on your image for a softer look. anyone tried it like this? I dnt have a blender pen myself but I recall someone on here mentioning it a while ago and saying that it just seemed to 'bleach' the colour out of their image? I'm thinking I might get one now and try it the way the magazine advised - oh and FWIW I use a Memento inkpad for using with my promarkers
Hope this helps you as well.
Night all

CT1972 - Watch for the postie tomorrow! Hope you enjoy your trip to Alton Towers.
Gemma - glad you're feeling better but please don't overdo it & especially no paint fumes.

Padster - Hope you enjoy Scotland snow 'n' all - it was you who said they were going up there wasn't it or have I lost the plot?
On that note I'd better go ................can't remember much more @ the moment anyway.0 -
Good evening ladies...:D
Although I bet most have gone to bed now??
Well, I am feeling rather smug with myself.. I have managed to get an account that allows me to write on peoples blogs..
So, no longer will there be really, really long posts from me.. :j and I have just spent the last few hours writing on the blogs... phew!!!
I haven't got long to spend on this cos oh has gone to station to pick up ds1 and we are all supposed to be going to Alton Towers tomorrow, weather dependant, for ds2 21st birthday on Friday... so we are staying over at a cheapy Innkeepers Lodge near by and so I will have to leave the proper comments til I get back..
Just very quick comments for now...
Marg, Tiny, Macma Thank you for your help in getting me sorted at commenting on blogs. I have still to make my own blog but maybe ds1 will help?
Marg I have pm'd you.
Craftygranny It is bril news about Alicia, I am thrilled for you all. And well done Kaitlyn
Many congrats Dragonllew on your win
Tiredmom I bet you have felt a difference in having those extra nights of full sleep..My ds2 didn't sleep through until he was 12
Lyndach Hope your little'un is getting better now. and your wrist isn't so sore..
Ponr Hope you had a good flight and you get over your jet lag quickly.. bet you can't wait to make a dent on on your stash.
Jhb Choccy Thanks for putting fotos on thread, can put faces to names now...
Thrifty Put a comment on your blog.. not a nasty one honest.. how long does it take for it to be accepted? Haven't come across one like that before.. I can't read my comment so don't know if it has been accepted or not?
Sorry you are still battling with the authorities.. it can be draining. Sometimes it is a relief when it is Bank Holidays or week ends because there is absolutely nothing you can do when no one is there, otherwise you can feel quite frustrated and helpless wondering who else you can pester.
Skiergirl Hope you have a great break, a word of warning there will be pages and pages to catch up on when you get back... Phew!!
Wannab Glad you managed to get a loyalty card from Papermill, it won't take long to fill up..
Right, the travellers have returned.... Have to go..
Will catch up over the weekend.. Have a lovely couple of days and Good Friday, only a few more days til chocolate for me :jSelf imposed crafty stash ban: started again 22/8/10 1 whole month stash free!
I must not buy stash, I must not buy stash, I must not buy stash!0 -
PONR Hope you had a safe flight home and are not too tired today
Twinkle Hugs to you, it seems very unfair that your son is being treated that way
Marg don't know if I have to request to being added onto the list but I would like to be
Rusty I am on nights this week which is why I post at odd hours, I am normally tucked up in bed before 11pm
Well I have had three parcels come this week, but been so busy at work not had a chance to play, will catch up next week as I am away for the weekend.
