Rusty That link was brilliant, the day I help in my son's class is show and tell day and unfortunately none have ever been as wonderful as that.
Skiergirl I am just starting out and as yet haven't sussed saving blogs so I tend to just hop in and out of people's homepages when they mention them. I must admit it still feels a bit weird rather like listening in on someone elses conversation if you know what I mean. Anyway I'm waffling sorry, I just had a nosey in your blog and noticed you were from Cheshire and just wondered where about you are from. I live in Altrincham and wondered if you were anywhere near by whether you could point me to the best places to get things from at a sensible price. I know of Hobbycraft in Stockport and believe there is somewhere in Manchester called Fred Aldous but otherwise I'm in the dark.
Right better dash I'm off to a school meeting.
Thanks0 -
Evening all, cant believe had about 6 pages to catch up on and sure I have forgotten people so really sorry (head is a shed at mo).
 to newbies.
Right, here we go:
Tomsmum - did you daughter like her survival kit??
Wannab - glad you are having a good day - could you send a bit of your good luck down here ta!;)
nannyboo - I just have a desk from Ikea tucked in a corner and it is ideal, it has shelves that you could put your scissors & glue on out of the way - I would really hang fire with an actual craft room - maybe only in the short term until you know you have more kiddies to look after - hope that helps a little:o You can still have a lovely craft area just without the huge expense.
rusty -hope things went ok at the drs - ooh housemouse stamps are gorgeous!! Keep oggling them and umming & ahhing. Maybe when I start my extra hours;)
craftygranny - lovely news on Carly.
Have updated my blog with the lovely card Melissa sent me for the CP card swap and also popped a pic there as well.0 -
Good evening everyone
Sorry I haven't been here for so long, I have tried to keep up but not quite managing it! So much going on in all our lives but it has been great to see some of your creations and hear about what is going on.
I love popping onto your blogs too and sorry I don't always get round to making comments but I often visit.
Sadly, after having a long, hard think, I am not going to make it to the NEC this time. Not quite got the funds, so I will be green with envy at everyone getting to meet up,chat and share plus all the fabby bargains I know you will find. I hope there's lots of gossip and piccys on all your blogs so I can share in the fun!
I will try and make a mother's day card for the challenge as I really need to do one (and several others!!!) and it is a brilliant idea for a challenge.
Will try and keep up a bit more with this new thread but still got lots of pages to read thru! Hugs to all xxx0 -
Scotslass I'm a Hystersister! Fab website when you're going through (in a whisper, like me mum used to) those womens problems.:o
Ooh me too!!
I absolutely loved that site when I went thru my surgery 3 years ago, very American but sooo friendly and informative. I have pinched lotsa smilies from there in the past!0 -

On the plus side i'm going to the Make It craft show in Farnborough on Sunday. I wasn't going to bother because of the NEC but Martin is getting is car repaired so i'm taking his Mum (she's after a Craft Robo) x
I actually used colouring pencils but can't remember why now! I think it's because I wanted the finer tip... On the tutorial on the Whiff of Joy blog they've used Copic markers just fine (make sure you put card underneath as I imagine they'd bleed a bit) x
Ooh Lei I have failed in organising your stash swop too so please don't worry, I will try harder and hope to get it sent soon!
I was sooo tempted to go to Make It as it is so close to me but it's £7.50 to get in and trying to be good. Please let me know what it's like as might go next time if you recommend it!! Thanks xxx0 -
Thanks for the link to the free download pointofnoreturn.
Well done on the wedding invite order Rusty. When I made similar ones last summer for a friend, I didn’t charge her, but I would add quite a bit to the materials because whatever time you think they will take to make they will take you longer. I thought i’d do 40 in a couple of nights, but it took me a week. Hope you got on OK at the Drs.
Giggle your post it holders are fab. I made them for the teachers at Christmas and loved to they as they were so easy to do.
Nannyboo – I think I would hold off spending lots of money on a craft room, until you know what the future is. Could you not look of freecycle to see if anyone is getting rid of units/desks and make that do for a while, it won’t cost you anything and you get a temporary craft room?
Wanna-b-rich – what a fabbie day you have had. Hope it continues.
Fab news about Carly Craftygranny – how is Alicia getting on out in the States?
DTB – beet you can’t wait to have your sister home, I bet she loves the bunting. Have a fab time at the Spa. Hope her OH managed to track the wine down.
Toms Mum – fantastic news about your Husband, and am glad to hear your mum is doing well.
The Wife – love the card you have done for your granddaughter, she’ll love it
Welcome to the thread Hassy.
Will try to sort out a mother's day card at the weekend to enter your challenge JHB.
Off to do some more blogging xx2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -
I'm back
Didn't go as well as I hoped at doctors he prescribed me more pills to take in addition to the normal onesso thats 26 tablets a day!!
he wanted to sign me off work for another 2 months but I refused and as a compromise I had to agree to 2 weeks off and go back and see him after 2 weeks
If these tablets don't help then I will end up back in hospital!
I can't win and feeling very miserable about it all!
Npsmama - wow only 9 weeks left!! .... nice to see you back!
Skiergirl - lovely to see you, how are you? are you all better now?
Furry - Another stranger to the thread! sounds like you had a lovely time away!
Ali_B - you will have a PM
Need to catch up on blogs, but it will have to wait til my evil little girl is in bed and asleep  Nipped into Nana's to drop off my sicknote (the joys of working for the inlaws) and Nana fed them smarties ice creams before their tea :eek:Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Rusty sending big hugs your way, sorry things didn't turn out as you had hoped at the GP's. 26 is lots of tablets do you rattle when you walk??!! Hope these ones work and that there is no need to go back to the hospital xxx0

Have just caught up - dratted work!
But can't remember what I've readother than thinking that a rattling rusty flange must be painful
. 26 tablets a day is some going you'll need a trolley just to take them with you to the NEC :rotfl:.
Don't know what to suggest about your craft room Nannyboo - if it was me I think I'd probably spend half and keep half to have the rest done later.
Forgot to say thank you to Thrifty for my gorgeous blingy ATC - have posted yours and Lyndach's card swap this afternoon on way to parents meeting. For once the teacher looked more frightened than me :rotfl:.
I've put a few holiday pics on my blog - didn't add one of the washing am now on load 8!!! Next time we go anywhere I'm taking half of DD's and OH's stuff out of the cases so they can't wear so much they both took (and therefore wore) twice as much as I did
PS I won't be able to go to the NEC eitherOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

I rattled before, now he is just making me take another 3 a day :rotfl: so I will probably strap some bells onto my trousers to disguise the fact I rattle even more!!
Not sure if they will work or not, they are for nerves and quite often prescribed for epilepsy sufferers? Will leave them for tonight and start them tomorrow!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0
