Congratulations Dragonllew!:j Or should I say Lucky Girl Aimee? Maybe they'll come when she is at school.........

Rusty - I do understand - I'm a bit the same. Hope it gets better very soon.

OAP - LOL at your grandchildren - when I was a teen it was far too cold to spend the evening in my bedroom and the only entertainment up there was the radio.

I haven't made a card since DD birthday 2 weeks ago, all computerised!
I'd love to make DS a WWE card, any inspiration.
I have been making sock monkeys of late & today I made several tissue (kleenex) holders which I quite liked doing.

Need to order my Banana Frog stamp set for christmas cards.

For those who have Pink Petticoat papers, I bought a set which has the kraft shade but I need it lighter than it prints. can anyone offer me tips.
    Thanks

    Evening all!

I'm feeling very refreshed following a post-work nap :o and some tasty dinner.

I have a couple of cards to make tonight - my old manager is retiring and I'm doing her a "Good luck" card. It's quite hard as she's not girly at all, so I'm using some dark patterned cardstock and a coffee cup image - she does love her Americanos!

I also have a thank you card to do for my auntie, which will be different again as she's not someone who likes particularly modern styles so I'm using a pretty flowery background....I'm not sure what to do after that though, hopefully inspiration will hit!

I'll pop back once they're done and let you all have a look, they will be on my blog before bedtime - I need to finish them before my beloved Spooks at nine!

Hogshead - is the paper plain? Are you trying to match something up? Do you just want a solid colour?

Not sure if this will help or how to explain but..... say you were trying to match a colour of a paper you can open in 'Paint'. Open it, select a small piece containing the colour you want. Copy it, then open another Paint document and paste the bit into the new document. Then from the RHS take the icon that looks like an eye dropper and click on the colour you want, then select the icon that looks like a paint tin and click where you want the new colour. It works best if you want solid colour as it floods the whole page with colour but depending on the format you can sometimes colour small discreet areas this way. I have absolutely no idea which sort works or which doesn't it's too techie for me.

I'm sure they will be better more efficient ways to do it that others may be able to tell you but that's how I'd try to start with.

Apologies if I'm talking rubbish or you already know or I've misunderstood.:o

Rusty - thanks. The paper is a bit on the thin side so I think maybe I ought to re-do it with something thicker and maybe that has a bit of a sheen on it.
Sorry you're still suffering with your back. Mine's a bit better (I think -or I'm getting used to it). Been going to physio and doing the excercises she gave me and now she says there's nothing else she can do so looks like I'll have to live with it and just watch what I do.-never mind, there's folk with worse that.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

  • Hello Ladies!! Phew what a day, and not doing very well at the crafting i had planned for this evening, i am just too tired from work - think i am coming down with something!!

I know i have mentioned Stampin' up on here before, but any of you ladies are thinking of ordering some punches then now is the time! As from October the first the punches and postage will be going up in price!!
They also have some punches in the sale, the tag punches are reduced to 6.25 each which is a mega bargain!!

Marg the papers are digi downloads. I have printed it but it's just too dark so I want the same paper only lighter. Not sure if I explained myself at all well.
I can alter the light/dark on my printer so put the dark page under the copier & changed it that way.
Just wondered if I could do it another way without wasting so much card/ink trying.
  • Evening Ladies. I've tried to get on here twice since the last time I posted and both times it's kicked me out - was it something I said?? I'm just having 5 minutes break from doing a DT card. Kinda struggling with it cos the image is soooo not me and as a result I'm not enjoying working with it, just figure that if I get it out of the way I can move on and do my stuff.

    - I don't think I'll be joining in with your current challenge - sorry (I don't have any cow images and have yet to stumble across one I like enough to buy)

Marg - I had a fab evening out, but didn't get in until 3.30ish and then was up with the lark, so today I'm shattered. Still went to my grans today to do her housework and shopping, but haven't touched mine. How did the footie go? Love the card made from a napkin scan on your blog - very inventive.

Ali - Glad you survived the party.

Dragonlew - congrats to both you and Aimee

Congrats to all our other winners too, there are just so many of you atm.

Sorry if I've missed anyone out - I hate these rushed visits as I don't have time to make notes and am obviously carp at typing from memory.
