  • Jazabelle, your cards are beautiful. I am feeling rather smug as went to a local fayre yestserday and there was one card stall, and my cards were waaaaaaaaay better than the ones on there. Does anyone sell their cards on here, if so how do you do it?I would love to give it a go.

Tomsmum just had a little walk around your beautiful garden, tried to comment, but it wouldnt let me sorry .Its a fabulous job,I,m always telling my OH to dig up the grass and put down slabs,it would be much less work for him in the long run.
I would be able to do a bit of weeding without getting wet feet on the grass.

Thanks Artydoll. Not sure why you couldn't comment, it's set for "registered users" so as long as anyone is signed in with their account it should accept it. Mind you, Blogger has been playing silly Bs with me a bit lately :rotfl: .

I remember quite a few years ago at my school fete, someone had a piece of cardboard covered in pretty paper, with a shopping list note book in the centre, and a pen attached held down with string to keep in the kitchen to write down anything you need for shopping. They went down a storm, and I bought my nanna one for Christmas and she said it was the most helpful present anyone had ever got her.

Flourgirl did some of these last year they are on her blog they are fab .

Blogger has been playing silly b's with me for ages some days it won't even let me sign in. It gives me updates on some blogs and not others but it lets me comment on some and not others too. mad or what.

Thank you! Just took a look, they're gorgeous.

Flourgirl - what did you use here to mount the calendars on please? And you mention you mounted some notepads on the back of an envelope, which is a great idea - but I don't think I have any. Have you used anything else? I assume it would have to be quite thick card.

Thank you! I've sold a few at fetes and car boot sales. At the car boot sale I did them at 50p, which isn't much - but didn't think my cards were good enough to charge a lot! I sold quite a few at that price.

Yesterday I had some at the fete, and people weren't even looking at them. I put them on at a £1. The difficulty I find is you can now get cards from Tescos for 20p, and people don't realise how much time and money it takes to make them - so they don't want to pay a fortune.

I know one lady at work sells them for £1, and she gives a £1 to charity. I find that very annoying! I'd rather pay £1 for the card, and donate a £1 to the charity of my choice!

Hi ladies, back with a request for some advice - I love the effect of distressing but havent a clue as to whether I need any special things (other than a Tim Holst distressed effect inkpad) - I have sort of inked the edges of cards by brushing them against the top of my feeble collection of coloured ink pads (being pink & green) - can anyone help as to what I would need. Thanks in advance xx

I use Tim Holtz Blending Tool and foam, but you can use cut n dry foam or at a push a cosmetic sponge. You can rough up the edges with your finger nail, a pair of scissors or a distressing tool.

The tutrorial I'm in the process of doing has basic tips and techniques for creating distressed backgrounds. Hopefully it will be done by tomorrow.
