I think when you are fundraising you have to be cheeky otherwise you wouldn't get anything!!! I think if you could get a programme printed for the day and let donating companies have a free mention in it that would be good. I'd be inclined to write again to the local football teams and say you appreciate that they pay directly to charities but you are not asking for a monetary donation but something like a signed football or scarf that you can use in a raffle. Send them some details of your charity including the work it does, charity reg number and things that you have done with the money to help people. What about local radio stations??? They might have something or give a free plug to your event on air???

Yes, that's very true! Okay, I will try again. I will annoy them into giving me something, dammit!

We're not running the event, we're just having one stall there. I just like to pack it with stuff! I put big posters up saying who donated what and particularly would emphasise it if it wasn't obvious who gave it!

To be honest, it may be a bit unethical - but I'm not going to give all the raffle prizes away on this raffle. We didn't sell enough raffle tickets to do that. I will see what has enough time left on it to wait a few months and use them again. I will give most away though.
oooh scatty i was just going to say the same thing. OOps dunno how that happened . Jazabelle if you need beer mats to make post it notes or coaster calendars then i can send you some i have a few ( hundred's ) my son manages a toby carvery and brings me them home from work. Last time i asked he brought me a huge pack with about 800 to 1,000 in. Mind you we use loads lol .

Oh, that would be so awesome, if you don't mind! I would really appreciate anything like that, because I pretty much have to buy everything out of my own money and hope it make it back in a few months, as the charity doesn't have that kind of money.

So that's really kind of you!

Has anyone ever made christmas crackers? That may be an idea for the stall!

  • Evening.

I don't think this has been posted but sorry if it's old news...... Someone needs to look here

I've finished the tutorial on digi reflections, I hope it's OK. Apologies if it's teaching anyone to suck eggs, but I've tried to aim it all levels.

So who's in the Crafty Ribbons Challenge this time? Is it a who's who of MSE?

I've made them from scratch and also "prettied up" the ASDA smart price ones (which I think we got for something like 27p a pack).

That's a good idea - and probably cheaper than me buying all the bits individually! I'm just looking for some cheap hats at the moment, but perhaps I should wait and do it that way.

Now I just need to find enough loo rolls!

Is there a specific paper that works best?

Hi Choccy, could you pinch the MSE image from my blog by copy and paste to your desktop and then work with it from there adding a link to it? shruggy shoulder smilie lol The only thing is it won't blink, I had to remove the blinkie cos it locked up my blog, but that could be something to do with transfering it from my old laptop
