jazabelle - so sorry to hear about your dla refusal........is there any way you could try again ?
I know when I first applied for mine I was refused at first then asked them to review it and next time I was allowed it. Maybe your GP could help
hugs (((((:o))))) x
This was the tribunal. So I applied, got turned down, appealed, got turned down and then went to tribunal. Then I applied again, got turned down, appealed, got turned down and went to tribunal AGAIN. Thank you though.Jazabelle, can you appeal? a lot of gov. dept. are cutting back and maybe if you don't push you don't get? sending you some hugs and positive thoughts x
I think you can appeal a tribunal on a point of law or something, but think you might need a lawyer or something for that? Not sure.
I just don't understand it. I can only walk about 30 metres with a walking stick. I'm in a wheelchair any other time.
I need help getting out of bed, showering, making my meals. Everything.
I fit all the criteria. Thanks for your support.

Aw Jazabelle that sucks!
I'm no expert but I would imagine the fact that they wouldn't let you postpone until your representative out of hospital would be a good starting point for reasons for appeal .
Hope all goes well.0 -

Yes, it does mention that actually. So you may be right! Hopefully there is something."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Hi folks.
Welcome Izzy. Looking forward to seeing your cards.
Sorry I'm not participating much. DD and family come tomorrow for a few days so been getting everything ready. Need to do some ironing but not sure I'll get around to it.
OH must have felt sorry for me not making cards. I've been getting up early with the puppy, first one up, and I am so tired with everything else going on. Anyway, he said he'd do a mammoth puppy-sit this afternoon so I've spent the whole afternoon making 3 Xmas cards. Had to re-tidy the loft bedroom for DD though :rotfl: .
Jazabelle So sorry about the DLA decision. I take it this is for the mobility part. After DH's bone marrow transplant the hospital arranged for someone to help him with a DLA application. There was a social worker but also someone came from Citizen's Advice. The form is very long and involved and I think it's a good job he had someone who knew how to fill it in to do it for him. He got DLA awarded and although he was very weak and needed lots of help at the time he wasn't in a wheelchair so I don't see how you could be turned down even for the lower rate. Maybe you could speak to CAB or a social worker, or is that where your representative came from? I would be pushing for another hearing when your representative is available to help you.
I'll try and get my cards on the usual place tonight, not sure when I'll be able to get back on so hugs to all and well done to any winners since I was last on.0 -
Jazabelle thats appalling! it makes me sick when people manage to sponge but really deserving people get shafted
Would have made that kid eat his BB gun :rotfl: At least he had the right kind of mother IYKWIM
Hiya Izzy Wizzy - have a http://chippermunk.blogspot.com/ - there's some links to some kids challenge blogs on there plus we love kids entries at OSAAT
Had another small spend today (ok I lied) and have a few more promarkers and loads of card coming - worked out it would be cheaper to order from the Papermill rather than pay the bridge toll, diesel and 3 hours of my time for the round trip so have 5 of their boxes of card coming - have no idea where I'm going to put it but need to tidy up the spare room as it's full of those thunder bug things from where they cut the field next door:(
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Absolutely, brilliantly said DTB, I agree, Jazabelle you should push this point and get them to tell you exactly why they turned you down. I am so so sorry xxx My mum is on DLA and someone helped her complete the form, it was someone from a sight charity (as that's why she claims DLA).
Welcome to the thread Izzy Wizzy, looking forward to seeing your cards and other makes:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

We went to a country park today that we haven't been to before, had a great time and it only cost £2 to park the carOh and the ice creams we had later on
I've got a friend coming round tomorrow with her baby boy, can't wait to meet him:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
