Making cards - Ideas for beginners (part 4)

Just popping on quickly to say that I've not been on much this week so not up to date with the thread. I've blog hopped and left comments. Sorry if I've missed anyone out, I'm adding blogs as and when new ones are mentioned.
Even though Mom is out of hospital and getting on OK, there's still problems with my brother not doing what he said he was going to do. He was to arrange deliveries from Wiltshire Farm Foods so she could have a proper meal every day but he hasn't chased them up since his initial enquiry about a month ago, he can't even be bothered to ask them where their brochure is. I've told him he can order online but he doesn't like computers! Also he hasn't asked if she's had a second MRSA test to see if she's still a carrier, and without that confirmation I can't go to see her because of the risk of infection to OH. Even my DD can't visit her as she could bring the infection to her Dad. I am so cross with him, I am too far away to do anything and he has had all the contact with her doctors, etc. I can't get him to do any more and I've ended up emotionally drained today. I have to take a step back now and let them get on with it and I'm trying not to feel guilty about it!
I've not made any cards but hoping to get back into it next week.
We've had two lovely weeks weather-wise so I've been out in the garden, takes my mind off things a bit. I'll see if OH wants a ride out tomorrow, I might persuade him he needs a day out to the shops :rotfl: . Sunday's the best day to go as it will be a short shop (shops are 60 miles away) so shouldn't tire him out too much!
Anyway, congratulations are in order for some of you I gather, so well done. Hugs to those who need them and get well soon to any poorlies.0 -

Hi Everyone,
Another quick visit - i'll catch up properly tomorrow and comment on your blogs later. Where did you all buy your Craft Robo's from? OH's Mum wants to buy one so I said i'd see if I could find her a good deal.
I'm soo excited about the NEC now and can't wait to meet you all in person (and get lots of new stash of course). I was holding off buying anything until then but have just order a new die from the US:

Dawnteabag Where did you get your buttons from? I lurrrve buttons. I once used wire and red buttons to make a heart shape and hang it on my twig lights during Valentine week. I change the decor on the twig lights periodically during the different seasons.
Enjoy your spa tomorrow/oops I mean later today..
I loved the bit about your hairy legs.. :rotfl:

I bought them from a car boot sale a couple of years ago - a biscuit tin half full for £5. My family thought I was mad but I think it was one of my best ever buys!
Thanks fur your PM - deeply appreciated. Will reply properly later on but I have a necklace to complete before I go to Mum's for lunch.0 -

JHB - hope your black eye isn't too bad!
Rusty - congrats - must be a lucky streak.
Twinkle - your cards are lovely - so much better than my 1st attempts!
Well, Mamma Mia was flipping brilliant - even better than the movie which I love! Anf this morning I got hte best Mother's Day surprise - DS2 awake at 7.15 when he's been up at 5.30 for the last 2 weeks! Mind you DS1 was up at 6.30 but DH took him downstairs so I could have a lie in.
As well as the t bag holder(!) from school DS1 yesterday made a little book made up of pictures of me and the boys (drawn by each of the boys) - it is so lovely and has 'A speshal book for you' written on the front!
Have a great day everyone0
