    Hi
how about purchasing a 'let's make cards' magazine which has lots of ideas and most of the materials with it. Try and make every single design in there 'cos it costs about £8 last time I looked but will give you experience in cardmaking.

even better you could book a workshop at a local craft shop - usually about £10 - to get a good headstart and meet some crafty people.

    hope this helps

I couldn't get that magazine locally so bought "Simply Cards and Papercraft" and "Cardmaking and Papercraft". Really not based at total beginners :( It is ok saying "you need" when I have no idea what the items are or waht you even do with them.......oh I must be thick:o

I think a workshop is the way to go!

Afternoon ladies!!! I finally had my docrafts mini books delivered today that I ordered ages ago - it was sort of worth the wait because a)they were cheap and b) I couldn't find them in stock anywhere else - I've got no excuse now - I think everyone will be getting one for xmas!!!!

That new stamp machine is on QVC later at 7pm - I haven't seen anything about it myself so I'll be taping the show!

Soma - congrats on your ribbon win!!!

Dragonllew - congrats on your win too!!!!

Wanna-b-rich - thanks for your kind offer - I'll let you know! Did you try using a pokey tool to take your die cuts out? Congrats on your win - fab prize!!!!

    Mad-frog - has he/she arrived yet????

    Congrats to *******!!!!

Artydoll - Oh dear - I hope you feel better soon!!!!

Use the magazine to get ideas for design - there's no harm in completely copying what they've done. If you need to know what certain items are and what you do with them and if they're essential, just ask, someone here will tell you.

A beginners workshop will be useful, but if you want to make a start now, let us know what you need and we'll help you find it and hopefully help you avoid buying unecessary stuff.

Meant to say your certainly not thick - if you look back over the last few pages you will see that we have discussed a couple of products and tools that we are having problems with or don't know what to do with them.

you could post the stuff you already have so we can think of ideas for you to do. I'm watching with interest as I would be interested in card ideas for beginners - I'm hoping to crafting as an activity at my next birthday party.
