When we view houses we always dressed young and in slightly cheap looking clothes, were very sweet and polite and did the young couple in love thing. It always added a little more weight when putting in a lower offer if they think you're starting out and are struggling to get the mortgage.
I'm not saying you should do that Lost but if you go in looking like you're too wealthy the might hold out for full asking price.

ETA, I hope that doesn't sound devious, just the whole process of buying and selling is full of games and don't even get me started on Estate Agents...

It doesn't sound devious, more sensible. I don't think I look particularly ''well dressed'' just brightly coloured. I think jeans help tone things down. The problem we have is that its not a family we are viewing with, but rather ...someone else. Finances are known to the agent (bid for another property with the same agent a year or so ago) and, for very complicated reasons the vendor is also going to see a break down of plans and finances if we persue this property.

Anyway, its all horribly complicated. As we have dealt with the agent before he will be able to check files for what I will be thinking of bidding and what my previous mortgage agreement was.

I did actually suggest, for sort of simialr reasons we went in the Landrover to my dad....but he said he'd rather get there with no dislocated bones. :D.

I will! I hope you lot will be virtual help in everything when we buy....decorating, planning etc.

I think the only thing we will actually need to buy when we move is white goods and a new bed. The rest we can wait for.

LOL not with me it doesn't! I'm as likely to think that, as to think you'd both have comfortably-off parents behind you who could stump up some £££!!

I agree it is a game, but a game of nerve, I reckon as much as anything else!
  • Hola chicas!

Back from Madrid, had a wonderful time. It was soooo good to see my friend Cristina again after 5 years.

There was lots of laughter and a few tears as we caught up on everything - changes in relationships, jobs, the loss of loved ones, the birth of new family members etc.

I've updated my blog with pics - more fun than fashion!

Have bought a wee bottle of cava from the supermarket, so I'm now going to spend a couple of hours reading back on what I've missed and catching up on everyone's blogs.

    xx

I didn't get the job at house of fraser, strangely no white person got through and i'm NOT racist! My grandmother passed away on Friday, so I'm now extremely down. :(

thanks so much, it means a lot. my mum is distraught though obviously, and i guess it will just be the age old 'time isn't a healer but it makes things easier'. I bought two new lipsticks yesterday, bewitching coral by max factor and tangerine touch by no7. I'm trying to still go at life as I really need a job and somewhere to live :(

I'd love to know what I could say to my mum. I'm okay with coping with things, but I do that by pushing things to another filing cabinet in my brain which is probably not the best idea but sometimes I find by pretending i'm happy I feel a bit better. But I still don't feel like it's real, at all. Like we have to plan a funeral and stuff I just can't believe it..
