I think a modern interpretation of forties hair is actually better for this sort of look than the neatly coiffed look, actually....a loose low bun for example. I've been doing this a fair bit lately, with minimal makeup...including a sheer red lipstick, and its a really pretty look and would go well with vintage style shirtwaister or tea dress...:)

I'm loving the low loose buns at the moment too.
I never used to wear my hair up apart from on holiday or swimming. Not even when I got married would I consider an up do.
I like putting it in a ponytail then plait the rest, wind it round and the loosen it all a little then grip in place. It looks really complicated but not too fussy if that makes sense!

OK, I'm dressed. it has indeed been the faithful black and white maxi, just as well, I've gone to town with eye makeup!

Under eye is a pale blue shadow line, upper lash line is an aqua mint green, above which on lid just onhe outer eye is the new parrot green, blending out of the lash line. The difference isn't as clear as I would have liked but its fun. :) I'll need a pale beigey gloos on lips when I go out, natural lip a little too pinky bright :)
