Bhf is by far the most expensive in our town too jj, they seem to think vintage means anything old, and have "vintage babydoll nightdresses" (think polyester lol) for £40!0

This one used to be like that, then I think they realised they weren't actually selling anything. I know it's mean but I love it when they price all the Primark stuff up at near normal prices and then mark a Thomas Pink shirt at £3.50. (That was the BHF, made my week!)
PF, £40?!! Even my local overpriced vintage shop isn't that bad!!0 -
Yeah it's mental..
Oh well, it doesn't stop me visiting, I find it just adds to the challenge to find a bargain..
There's nothing on tv now, so I'm going to bed with a trashy chick lit book..nite all0 -
Charity shops here are really overpriced. I used to love the BHF shop when I lived a couple of towns over, they had an amazing book section and not just your regular selection of tatty old Catherine Cooksons.
Now if I can manage it I go to the same town to support Charity Begins At Home, which donates purely to local causes and does not advertise nor pay workers.
Also off to bed, have a good night all you night owls."All cruelty springs from weakness" - Lucius Annaeus SenecaPersonal pronouns are they/them/their, please.
I'm intolerant of wheat, citrus, grapes, grape products and dried vine fruits, tomato, and beetroot, and I am also somewhat caffeine sensitive.0 -
Nite PF. I'm off too, going for a quick soak in the bath with Valley of the Dolls to read, then it's off to bed for me.
Sweet dreams all.0 -
Our Oxfam shop must be the cheapest one anywhere - clothing is ridiculously cheap compared to the others, books tend to be a bit more expensive though. BHF shops will always be quite expensive - they have a nationwide pricing policy, we have posters up in the sort room saying exactly what we have to charge for certain items. Bargains are possible though when a sorter misses a good label and puts it in the green bin which is the cheapest price band. A dress on green for example would be £4.99 and on red or blue £6.99 and up. They are very fussy about the condition and age of garments as well. I'm not saying I agree with their policy, just explaining it! Also I get 25% off so it pretty much evens out for me.0

BHF is the most expensive here too. Our Oxfam is pretty good, it's huge! Most clothes are £2.99. It's usually the local ones (hospice etc) that have the best prices.
I don't know if any remembers but I mentioned about my top university contacting me for a reference. I've just got an unconditional from them tonightI can't tell you all how happy I am! My life is finally looking up.
Celebrating with a magazine in the bath, how rock and roll!0 -
