Hi, do you mind if I join you? I've been lurking on this thread for a while now so thought I should come and say hello!

I'm struggling a bit with clothes at the moment as over the last two or three years I have gone from a size 12 to a 16 and a lot of my clothes don't fit me anymore, but I don't want to buy new clothes in a size I don't want to be, iykwim?

I've recently started a new job, which is office based, but the dress code is fairly casual (I work in advertising) and at 31 I am one of the oldest people in the office! I've also joined WW last week and am hoping to be back in those size 12s before too long :) Feeling very determined :)

What I'm trying to say, in a very rambly way, is that I'm trying to make more of myself and the way that I look. I may not be happy with the weight that I am at the moment, but I'm sick of wearing boring, shapeless clothes!! Life is too short to be miserable about this and so I'm going to enjoy dressing in nice clothes whilst I lose weight :)

Alex your buys sound fantastic, I love the sound of the coat!
I've been splurging a little today. I bought a big grey flower corsage in Asda for £3, some antiquey gold bangles with "love to love" inscribed around one. £7.50 and this 75A91ECRM_thumb.jpg necklace from Miss Selfridge in the sale at £3 which I love.

The weather's been a little cooler today so I have an outfit on sort of!

grey polka dot t-shirt with heart shape cut out at the back - £4 Primark
denim jeggings - £3.75 Sainsburys sale.
Black gladiators - £16 Peacocks and have given me a blister on my left heel.
Grey butterfly quilted waistcoat - £5 Miss Selfridge
    Bangles various
Pink heart clocklet - Topshop via ebay 99p
    Grey corsage £3 Asda.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Just realised how hearts and lovey my purchases and outfit are, must be all the scented hearts I've been making subliminally affecting my choices!

Welcome Mancbird and good luck with your goals.

Kandi - that New Look ruffled top is lovely, going to take a look online as I haven't looked at their stuff in ages.

Had a nice weekend with my cousin and his wife. They took me to a Scottish winery yesterday - yes, such a thing does exist! And I just thought it was whisky we did up here!

Evening everyone. Hope we've all had a nice weekend :)
I'm so sleepy :( have been all weekend! Just on the bus home from a leaders garden party in Dudley, with cream teas and croquet and swing boats, it absolutely tipped it down whilst we were croqueting, but i didn't let it bother me! I won one hoop!
And it was a chance for me to wear a lovely vintage laura Ashley frock :) I actually remembered to take some pics too so will show those tomorrow on that whcih should not be mentioned!

Mancbird - I totally understand where you are coming from, I am much bigger than I want to be and begrudge buying big clothes as I am hoping to be smaller soon. But these last few weeks I have started buying clothes again in the size that I am now and if I do manage to get smaller I will alter them, and if not I am about fed up of caring anymore!
Vicki that necklace is really pretty I love it. I need to buy some black lace to make a couple of corsages you just reminded me.
Alex - thanks for the blog post your new haul is amazing - I love your coat!

    Afternoon all

    Where has the sun gone:(

Still in my maxi dress teamed with converse and denim jacket - only popped out with DH to go to the emergency docs and collect prescription other than that just been chillin getting ready to get the DS's back to school although don't know what they'll think DS2 has been up to as he's lost 2 teeth during the hols - they were ready to come out but both either side of 1 big one at the front so looks a but Nanny McPhee-ish:D

Alex - fab haul at the booty - well done

Sun all day here. Dress code....horrific, we were moving rubble...met new neighbours again, they are going to think I always wear tracksuits or those wretched blue shorts, with my cellulite all shaking around.....never mind. Moving rubble will shake a lot of it off!
