Afternoon all
just got back from two lots of exit surveys which took forever! I thought it would be busy due to the weather, but people just walk past and ignore you
soo tired but need to quickly pop into town to the library and try to get a new pole for a dome tent we were donated from the leftovers at v festival last yr (donated to the guides) which is missing one pole..
Then home to tidy up and my friend is coming over at 8.300 -
Oh shall I bike or walk?! In a really short dress, so
thinking walk. Need something to put under dresses for cycling :-/0 -
Kandi I missed the bit where you got a new job. Congratulations! Are you still a QS?
Oh yeah, our jobs have been moved to a new office 40 miles away ( I already travel 25 miles to work, so it would be 65 miles each way!!) and even though I loved my job I have had to leave, I just cant do that travel with having to see to the boys. I was lucky enough to get another job straight away and I am still a QS. My husband works at the same place and he has had to leave too, its been a bit of a worrysome time. I am working half for my old company and half for my new one this month so I am all over the place and start proper on 1st July. You can stand there and agonize........

Oh forgot to mention I had a bit of a spending spree today, got stocked up on lots of vests and pj's in primark and got some cheapie navy plimsolls and a nice black cut out bag £3 each:
Got jewellery and a few nice tops from New Look in the sale, I found a blouse that will go with my black shiny skirt, it is black though not very apt for a christening but maybe I can make it work, this is it, I couldn't find it on their website so took a quick photo, it was £8 in the sale:
Got loads of vests and long sleeved tees for £2 and £3 each and got a sweet cardie with gret roses on again in the sale:
Oh and a lovely bracelet from Debenhams its got bees on - and I love bees, half price £7.50:
And now I am brokebut happy :j

Wow Kandi, didn't know you had all that going on at work. I did my work experience as a QS working on the MOD buildings near Bristol. I wanted to be a Civil Engineer at that point but decided to do a more general Mathematical Engineering Degree which lasted one term until I dropped out lol! (Parents definitely did not lol though!) Glad you were able to find something else, my DH does a similar commute and it's no fun at all.
I was going to ask you what ypou bought at Primark! I have some pumps like that and I have the same bag, I love the grey cardi and the bee bracelet too.
I don't really think my outfits this week have been worth mentioning so I haven't, I've been so hot it's just been a dress and fitflops with no jewellery hardly inspiring. I've not had anywhere to go to make an effort for either with it being half term most of the groups I go to are not running.0 -
Oh wow, small world, Im a QS and my DH is a Civil Engineer.
Same here I work on site some of the time so I can't wear dresses or skirts so its usually boring black trousers and blouse or top of some description. Its hard to dress up when you are wearing high visability clothes on top and standing by the side of a dirty motorway for some of the day. That's mainly why I don't post my outfits as they are crap, and at home in this heat just comfy. You can stand there and agonize........

Kandi - fab buys! I have that grey cardi and it's just lovely.
I've been car booting this morning. As usual, came home with a shedload of books and some new board games (and rather randomly, a fold up camping chair and a Eurohike rucksack), but I actually got some clothes this time! Very excitedI got the most gorgeous (and slightly mad) Kookai tapestry long winter coat, a BNWT New Look floral strapless dress, a green Zara kaftan type thing, a H&M white and floral vest top and some Schuh espadrille/pumps. Bargaintastic and it totally makes up for the crappy shopping trip to town I had yesterday.
Although I did visit the mighty Abakhan and stock up on some lovely fabric so watch this space for sewing machine related tales of doom...0 -
You lucky thing! Sounds like a fantastic haul - I have times like that were I find nothing for ages then loads all at once. I hate sorting through clothes at the boot sale on the floor though, once when I sold clothes at a boot sale I took clothes rails and washed and hung everything up so you could see what was there and what size they all were (I am a bit of a tidy freak too). I know there are good bargains to be had if you are prepared to rummage by my poor old knees won't let me
Looking forward to seeing what your fabric turns into, I keep sending for the dress patterns from the prima but I am still too scared to attempt clothes. Maybe one day soon.
Would love to see a pic of that Kookai coat. You can stand there and agonize........
