My favourite plum crumble is this Nigel Slater one http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/almondandgreengagecr_80545.shtml

Tastes fab with just plums or a mixture of fruit

Oh sorry to crash in on the thread but I love the sound of Plum chutney, do you have a recipe for that please?

I heard plums were one of the so called super foods along the likes of blueberries etc. Eat them all you will be super human or on the bog all day.
I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.

plum vinegar is good too. Chop up plums quite small, put into glass jar with white vinegar and leave on sunny windowsill (or perhaps radiator :D ) You can leave a couple of weeks or months, until you want to use vinegar and remove shrivelled plums if necessary. You can use in chinese cookery or salad dressing and you can also add spices - but add little at a time.

    Hello :)
A neighbour has just given me 2 full carrier bags of plums, I have no room in my freezer, (though could possibly borrow some space for a short time) I really don't want to see them go to waste, but not sure what to do with so many. I have thought about plum jam (I have some jam jars, though not too many) also plum wine, though not sure I have the gear to make it depending on how complicated it is to make. Any recipes for plum jam or plum wine gratefully received, or any other suggestions would be great. I have a feeling I might be up doing things with plums tonight lol.
  • I just cooked all mine up with apple juice and cinnamon, popped them in the fridge, going to reheat some each morning and have plum stew breakfasts :)

I made plum chutney today using this recipe: http://www.waitrose.com/recipe/Plum_and_Apple_Chutney.aspx and will be making plum jam tomorrow using this one: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/11750/angelas-flexible-jam-recipe (made blackcurrant jam using it today).

    Hope that helps!

Yummy, I think I will get cracking with that whilst waiting for some other ideas. How long will it keep in the fridge that way?
