Have you more info on the chlorine generator?
I can get something similar from a builders merchant but it just isn't dense enough. Squashes too much and that may cause the bottom to puncture.
It's a bit too much like polystyrene. Guess I need to do a bit more searching. My neighbours got theirs from a skip during a demolition!
The chlorine generator was from toysrus (online offer only) at £105 delivered.
Unfortunately they are now out of stock but can still be had cheap on ebay, or at most stores for around £150. Some charge £300!!
You just add table salt to the pool and then plug the generator in line with your filter pump. Won't work without one as it needs to have good water flow through it and has no indpendent pump. The salt water passes through a cell containing plates and this causes an electro-chemical reaction which produces chlorine in the pool, but without the chemicals or the stinging eyes! Run it for roughly 2-3 hours per day to keep the pool water clean and fresh. The filter pump will remove any dirt and particles.
On a positive note, had an email that my pool has been sent out and WILL arrive today :j Once it is up and running I will report on how well the generator works. I'm off to buy a big sack of salt!0 -
are thinking about getting one are they any good for adults? I am having trouble with my leg v viens and thought it might cool them down, any advise
would be grateful.
ps don't say get your viens done !!!!!0 -
Sorry guys,
I appear to be hijacking this thread but I need some advice!
Pool has arrived and unfortunately the filter pump only manages
300 gallons (1135 litres) an hour.
Chlorine generator says that it needs a minimum flow rate of 700 gallons (2650 litres) an hour!
Has anybody else used the chlorine generator with a smaller pool / filter pump? If so, does it work?
Thanks,
Phil
*UPDATE* Managed to get hold of somebody at intex and they say that the generator will NOT work with a smaller filter pump so beware if you have bought one - looks like it is going back and I will be getting chemicals after all. Shame they don't put the flow rate info on the box - only place I found it was on the back of the setup dvd - obviously an urgent afterthought!!0 -
My pool was delivered yesterday from Funkycrab and kids have been in it all day.
Fantastic pool, no problems putting it up and the filter is working fine.
Having got any chlorine yet but I couldnt keep the kids out!!!!!
A big thanks0 -

Thanks for that - I'm in Elm so we are close! I never saw it when I was in but I will ask about it tomorrow. Hope the nice lady in toys will still talk to me after she went to all the trouble of getting something in for my son and then I got it cheaper elsewhere!
Tried to take the chlorine generator back to TRU as requested by the customer helpline only to be told that they would not accept it as they didn't sell it at their store! Wasted 2.5 hours going there and back and standing around 'discussing' the point - won't buy online from TRU ever again!0 -
