Ragtimeplayer wrote:Just had an email from Funkycrab who were selling the 10ft pool for £29.99, they are out of stock and I won't be getting my pool, I am totally gutted.
Why did they let me buy it and pay when they had no stock?
Son is sat waiting outside for it as I write, thinks its coming today by courier, have to go searching on the internet like mad now, NOT impressed with that company at all.
I am worried now! Ordered the 12ft frame pool last thursday night and I am expecting delivery tomorrow but my order status has not progressed
Emailed them to find out if I can expect it tomorrow as the kids are desperate. Turned down the chance of a bargain 15 ft one yesterday because I am expecting this so I hope it's in stock.0 -
Check your junk email as my notification was in there! Its from "Matt" and the subject matter is none. I ordered the 10ft one and have been told to contact funkycrab for repayment of money! I have sent an email and left message on answerphone but no reply as yet.
I guess its a one man operation, in his email he said they had a bulk order of the 10ft so I am sure you will be okay with yours. But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more0 -

I think its only the 10ft one thats affected and a more cynical person than I would say its because they sold it too cheap...Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945Smoke free days = 11 Years :TCash saved so far = £125,45,110 -
Not sure if this may help anyone.
I bought an ingenious pool cleaning system for our pool last week, I had seen it advertised in a Westgate(co-op) toy magazine. There is no messing about with PH readings or measuring the correct quantities of chlorine or such chemicals to put in, only to have your kids come out with red eyes anyway :rolleyes:This works using a simple sachet system - 8 sachets in the box - one sachet in the pool each week, last 8 weeks. No chlorine either, works on some kind of active oxygen.......................don't ask I dont know.
Not much to discover about this product if you Google it, some guy on ebay has it for sale, Westgate stores have it and you can get it form Toys n' tuck, never used them and costs only £20.
Our pool has only had it in since thursday, but the water is still as clean as when I put it in, top stuff in my opinion.

I had seen this sachet stuff Doozeruk, but couldn't really find any info on how good it was. Most of the pages were in russian so they wouldn't translate on google. After I found another site that suggested it was simply a disinfectant and other chemicals were needed I gave it a miss and bought a chlorine generator. Glad it seems to be working for you.Now I just need my pool (fingers crossed) and a very long extension cord with an RCD!
Which Westgate was it in? - havent seen it in any of my local stores.0 -
You could try this as a chlorine free alternative...

Well I know its still early but no answer to my email and phone goes straight to answer machine. Order still has not progressed but I guess the guy is run off his feet in this weather!
Kids are sitting waiting for a knock on the door (I have told them they still can't use it until it is filled and the chlorine generator gets going!) so I hope it comes today. 7 were sold on their ebay store after my order was received so it should have been in stock.
Does anybody know if you can get something heavy duty to go under the pools? The groundsheets are rubbish and just like the B&Q value tarpaulins which I already have a few of.
My next door neighbour uses some interlocking 2 inch thick hard foam type material which doesn't 'squash' and works brilliantly but I cant seem to find a source. I think it was originally some kind of insulation.0 -
Have you considered checking a builders mercahants rather than a diy store? Jewsons, or Travis perkins?
Have you more info on the chlorine generator?0
