    Hi all,
I managed to not go overboard this weekend after all, so I got a few extra stores in, and still came in under budget at €571. So I am happy with that.

We had the roast lamb last night, which was YUM!! Leftovers tonight (sliced lamb in leftover gravy, with fresh mashed potato and fresh veggies, and I'll reheat leftover roasted veg as they were tasty!).

I spent a good bit on fish for Saturday, as we had a risotto, but that is always worth it. (I got prawns, mussels and some crab claws to try).

The rest of this week is mainly freezer dinners:
    Tomorrow: Lasagne
    Wed: Meatballs and oven chips
Thurs: Chick fajitas or pork stirfry
We are spending the weekend away so I don't have to cook for those.

And as I needed tracksuits for DD, I went to the other major local supermarket, so ended up getting a few stores things like 2 different types of crisps on 50% extra free in 12 packs offers (great for lunches), 4 pack tins tuna with extra €1.50 off, 2 tins spaghetti for €1 (saving 28c) and the fruit puree pouches that DD likes and are handy for travel being over 1/3 off (so I got 2 packs).

Have to go and think about my April budget yet.....

    Afternoon all

I've spent another £16.15 over the weekend but nothing today :T...and I've just made a cake for this evening so it should stay that way.

I've also had a rethink about April. Sorry to be a pain but Mrs M - please could you put my April budget down to £440.
£500 felt like a bit of a cop-out and not enough of a challenge. I have plenty of time over Easter to bake and plenty of other things to spend that £60 on!

    Nearly there now!
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

Went Over for March at £420 but will try again. Could you put me down for £380 for April. Did a big shop on Friday (my month starts 26th) and spent £134.10 so running balance is £245.90, but got loads of meat and storecupboard stuff so should just need to top up bread, milk and fresh stuff.

    Fingers crossed for April.

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone for this month. We are not participating this time as we are doing a family storecupboard challenge for the whole of Lent, with £100 in the kitty for anything we run out of and fresh fruit/veg. Whatever is left is going into the church collection on Easter Sunday, so I want there to be some left!! We'll be back in April.

To let you know, we managed it! I did the final shop at the weekend for this current week's food, and we have 16p left....I'll have to find a little more to put into the collection on Sunday, and the freezers and cupboards are looking depleted, but we did it!!

Can you put is down for £300 for April, please, as there will be some restocking the cupboards to do.
    December GC: £350
