That's great LTS - some people on here do monthly meal plans but I never really do more than a week ahead. I do buy all my main meat and fish bits at the beginning of the month and use these as the basis of a week's menus, but I don't plan in detail for more than a week at a time. I then shop once a week for the fresh stuff and try not to pop into the shops in between. This works fine for me but I only have me and DH at home now so easier to plan things - it's harder when you have hungry children/teenagers and their friends to cater for! So well done! Once you get into the routine of doing this you will find it becomes second nature - but remember what works for others may not work for you and your family so don't run yorself down - look how far you've come!

Only £12.59 at Mr Ts and includes an Easter egg as well. Although to be fair my mother donated some food to me so that has helped keep me well within budget.
I am keeping an eye on my freezer food so hope to go a week just living off that plus milk, butter and some fruit.
Need to find my Tesco vouchers as want to convert them to restaurant vouchers.MFW 91 op 2014 £410/1000

still going, 3 days to go, over alot now.
very pleased to have received an approved foods order, the fruit pots fab value and going fast in this house (twelve large individual servings for 99p), the ansley harriot cous cous now being favoured by dd (that was about 9p a sachet a few months ago),
now four months in an see i'm pateuing a bit, will not yet declare for march as its not over til wed night, mrs m please put poppy-glos down for £220 for April, each month i justify higher spends as i'm buying stuff on offer, and one month i may make a saving due to buying in earlier months, but it may just be that it would cost so much more if i didn't buy the bargains when i see them... still have two huge packs of co-op cheap loo roll left from december, and have now stocked up on comfort conditioner (cheap in mr t) and persil non bio (cheap in co-op).
best wishes to all.

Wow sistercas, that's way under - well done!
I have a quick question: just before Christmas I bought a pack of 50 frozen mini sausage rolls which I cooked ready to use at a party after DD2's wedding. However, fewer people turned up than anticipated and so I put the cooked sausage rolls back in the freezer. They have been there ever since. How much longer will they be ok? We have a party for my DH's 60th birthday at the end of July - can I defrost them to use then or will I poison my guests? It's just that I hate to waste anything and don't want to feel that I have to throw them away - though I will of course if there's any danger to health!
Any advice welcome!

Hi all - just updated my signature as had a small spend in Mr T for milk and a bit of choccy.
I still have £10 and some pence left until the 31st March. I will declare on the evening of that day.
Until then
Mrs Mc please could you put me down for £175 for April.
It is a 5 week month and Ds will be around as Uni holidays - also need some more cat food and it costs about 30squid for a 5kg bag. My moggy is a diabetic and needs this special diet. He is doing well tho' and looking healthy.
Thanks and keep up the good work everyone - :T0 -
Declaring at £89.35 .
little bit over, but did purchase some store cupboard ingredients which were half price (mainly bottle of Robinson's squash which were less than half price.)
Not planning any shoppping until thurs, so busy checking cupboards & freezer to write my shopping list.
It's so dull & miserable here that i'm going to do some baking this afternoon. The smell should cheer me up (plus i've got some overripe bananas to use up !)
Well done to everyone on their achievements this month (and for the last few days) xx:T"A bargain is something you can't use at a price you can't resist." Franklin Jones0 -
Hi,
my total for March was over budget 323.85:eek:. My new budget for April is 240.00. When I done 240 for Jan was inside budggt, but have tried 200 twice now and gone over, so I will go back to 240 and then slim it my 10 a month.
Yesterday we had a treat I cooked a pork loin, our butchers is fantastic. It was 4lb in weight for £11.00. We have enough left for sarnies today and I am doing Phil Vickerys Sunday roast pie today. Yesterday made a maderia cake and use the left over wights to amke lots of little merigunes which always work for a quick desert.:):jBrodie 1/ july 300/330.62:oAugust300/322.49:o
