My first letter (sorry, Parking Charge Notice) from Parking Eye arrived this week, for overstaying in an Aldi car park.
I guess it's game on.Debt free since December 2015. It can be done0 -
DO NOT PAY ANTHING TO THIS COMPANY
I live near to a retail park where Parking eye started one of their scam operations a few years ago, I've been told that the camera equipment alone cost £20,000 to set up. They are now trying to make as much money as possible. They are not a reputable company, there have been very many complaints from local people who were sent threatening letters demanding cash.
Landowners have a legitimate right to use their land as they see fit but the company Parking eye have no legal right to start issuing parking fines. Their letters look like official notices but they contain worthless threats.
The police and councils do have powers to enforce parking ticket fines but these do not generally apply to private land.
At my local retail park I have have always parked within the unenforceable 'Rules' as advertised by Parking eye. On one occasion after my car battery went flat I was given permission by the site security manager to leave my car at the site for a few hours. This did not stop Parking eye trying to scam me for large sums of money. To be polite I called Parking eye and wrote to them to explain that I was given permission to park. I was totally ignored and the threats continued. I did not pay and eventually the letters stopped.
More recently I received another demand stating that I had parked in breach of their 'rules'; they say I remained at the car park for five hours, this is simply not true. I have so far received two threatening letters demanding money. I know the law and am quite happy to fight parking eye at court if this should ever happen. I know that it will not, I shall continue to ignore their letters and advise everyone else to do the same. Many people do not know the law or their rights in relation to car parking. They will often feel intimidated by parking eye and the so called enforcement officers employed by them. MY advice to you all is DO NOT PAY THESE CROOKS and do not admit anything. Even calling their 0844 number will cost you money! If you feel the need to write then send a complaint letter to the owners of the car park or the business that that you were visiting. Consider writing to your local council/trading standards about the unwarranted threats you have received.
If you are still worried remember that you could print off this blog as proof of all the other people who were scammed by parking eye. KEEP YOUR MONEY, GIVE IT TO CHARITY OR TO SOMEONE YOU LOVE. NEVER GIVE IN TO FRAUDSTERS.0 -
Hello. I got a ParkingEye charge notice (£110) in early March for an overstay in a Morrison’s car park (Stirlingshire, Scotland). After reading lots of posts on this forum, I have decided to take the advice of the members and ignore all correspondence from ParkingEye.
Today though, I could not resist taking a trip to Morrison’s, to ask why they are associated with such a scam. I was shocked, they really could not care less. They offered nothing but sly ridicule, I thought they were trying to run a business. I was a regular customer and never fell foul of this scam before. Their car park is never very busy, and its going to be a little less busy from now on, as I will never shop at Morrison’s again.
I will scan and post any ParkingEye correspondence that is different or interesting. So far just the usual parking charge notice.:beer:0 -
John, well done on that, can I just say that complaining directly to morrisons head office addressed to the CEO will make sure you are directing your displeasure to the right place, the shop staff are just employees and have no power at all, they just follow orders.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

Welcome John, please make sure you let Morrison's know too. It all helps.

I am so relieved to read all the posts. I too got a parking notice charge from Parking Eye for the initial £50, I responded by appealing, providing info to them to prove I was shopping on the retail park. I sent it proof of posting and tried contacting them to make sure they'd recieved it. No luck contacting them. Today I have recieved a letter saying "the two previous parking notices have been ignored" (don't know where the second was sent because I never recieved it!). Anyway they are obviously not acknowledging my appeal letter which is lucky for me as I intend to not acknowledge them any further and stop stressing about it. I'm now more annoyed at myself for not reading MSE before as it's usually the first thing I do. I think I just panicked as I've never had a "fine" or anything before. Thanks top all that posted on this thread (except the trolls!). MSE'rs are great at providing such wonderful advice.

Rebecca, please tell everyone and i mean everyone about the countrywide scam going on.
If you are on facebook or any social networking site get the message out to all your friends and friends of friends.
Just shows these forums are having a hell of a result against the scammer's, if they weren't they wouldn't come on here and troll now would they?
I'd love to see their faces when they come lurking on this and other forums.0 -
I've just literally said to my hubby that I'm gonna post on facebook. Thanks so much. x0
