  • I am so glad I found this thread, got a PCN yesterday from Parking Eye :eek:and, yes, I was guilty of parking at Aldi, doing my shopping and then nipping over to the hospital for a quick visit to a relative. I had no idea there was a limit on parking time but it seems I went over by half an hour. Can I really just sit this out and not pay without any repercussions or bad credit rating?

Chop them up into toilet roll size pieces in case of emergencies when camping :money:
  • Morning all,

After receiving my third PCN off Parking Eye, I am still waiting for anything else to happen. However, and this may just be coincidence but I don't know, I did receive a weird phone call which was from a BT SMS service and a robotic voice left me a message saying to contact First Credit (a debt collection company), followed by a refernece number.

I am unaware of having any debts, except for the PCN which I won't be paying. Has anyone else experienced this before as regards Parking Eye?

They have been using different DCA's/solicitors lately, so its probably them. Whatever you do, don't ring them back.
  • Hi there,Just wanted to add a thanks also to the great advice on here, was a really good find. I got a £90 fine, reduced to £60 if paid quickly for parking in a car park in Whalley that i've used without issue many times in the past. On this occasion we parked up i went with my £2 to the meter and it was a new one to enter your reg. Tried to enter but the display said "out of order" so i just left it, i've parked in other places previous where the machine has been out of order without issue and thought nothing of it.Then got an "invoice" on Wednesday stating we had entered said car park and left an hour later without paying. Wife had already appealed before I found this thread so can't do anything about that but the letter is addressed to her and she wasn't driving. She's still a bit panicky we'll get something down the line but i've told her to leave it alone and pass all letters to me. I can easily see why some would pay though as she was gutted when she got the letter and nearly in tears.Wouldn't even mind but i was perfectly happy to pay the £2 to park but wasn't able to, yet they try and charge me £90 instead? Thanks again anyway.

Just ignore them, the invoice is not enforceable at all as they arejust a ppc
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • Junk mail number 1 for me today... £70 by 23 Mar, £40 if paid by 08 Mar.
I must live somewhere really cheap in comparison to others. But cheaper so cos I'm not paying it.
  • Surely if a company/store/institution engages Parking Eye then they must implicitly agree with the tactics and 'modus operandi' of Parking Eye. However , if you approach one of these companies with a legitimate parking grievance they say 'it's nothing to do with us, you should contact Parking Eye'. As many have already stated this would be a pointless exercise. Why do many, otherwise reputable, companies associate themselves with Parking Eye whose reputation (or lack of) is well known and well documented?
I refer specifically to the University of Lincoln who have recently used entrapment techniques (by the use of contradictory and ambiguous signage) to ensure their own staff members recently received parking notices, despite parking in good faith and displaying their parking permits as indicated by the signage.
