Delete all previous versions of Combofix and then follow these instructions, again for Combofix
Download Combofix from any of the links below. You must rename it before saving it. Save it to your desktop.

Double click on Combo-Fix.exe & follow the prompts.-
When finished, it will produce a report for you.
- Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt along with a HijackThis log so we can continue cleaning the system.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall0 -
I didn't know I had any previous versions of Combofix.
I don't think I know how to delete it anyway, I have just emptied out my downloads file and now I can't find Combofix at all when I search my start menu. From the two windows you posted (thank you very helpful for dumbos!) I got the first window but never saw the second one. I will try again now. Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
If you dont have any previous versions then just follow the instructions - I must have misread your post, my bad.0

OK so I tried again to install Combofix and still did not get the chance to rename it instead it tried to run straight away, and then gave me a warning because I was running Superantispyware in real time. So I went to turn SAS off, but I don't think it is running in real time as I have not paid for this and it was not ticked? I also turned Avira off.
So I tried again with Combofix, and it got as far as the blue screen then several pop ups appeared too fast to read, but one said hotkey app was not working, then the entire computer did it's turning off trick again!! This is literally just turning off, no shut down process and starts up again as if nothing had happened, not at all the same as a crash.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
reboot and keep pressing F8 at bootup to get into SAFE MODE and try again from there:idea:0

Another attempt at Combofix and had the same hotkey problem but this time it didn't stop Combofix running. Got all the way through past rebooting itself up to preparing a log and then the laptop turned itself off again. Then when I turned back on Firefox was no longer my default browser.
ETA: cross post, will try safe mode thank you.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
I went into safe mode and ran Combofix, it got to stage forty something before saying 'program cannot find .... ' repeatedly and then the laptop turned itself off again.

If you get stuck at any point, post here what it was then jump straight to running Dr Web:idea:0 -
