Right, I've dried the tears and had another look. I've found a long list of file folders in the c:drive headed system 32, is this what I'm looking for? The files are abbreviated and I don't know what the abbreviations mean. I have one concern though:- I bought the computer new in March 2008 and some of the file folders show a date going back to 2003! Is this a cause for concern? I think my next act tonight is to download MSE, am I doing the right thing. Mind you by the time you read this I'll have done it!! Thanks.

I've downloaded MSE and it's done a quick scan and not found any problems. Have we managed to eradicate them all or is the scan not thorough enough?

    Goto MY COMPUTER
    Find C drive
    OPEN c drive
Inside C drive will be various folders
    Find the folder PROGRAM DATA
    Open that
    Find the folder GOOGLE
    Open that
    Find the folder GOOGLE TOOLBAR
    Open that
    Find the folder UPDATE
    Remove (Delete) EVERYTHING in update

    Then do the same for
    c:\windows\wweb32.dll
(Open C drive, open the WINDOWS folder and the file you want to remove is in there and called 'wweb32.dll')

PS ~ computers arnt worth getting worked up over. I admit ive felt like bursting into tears some days (Im sure we all have) but its really not worth it. Shut it down for a day or two and compose yourself :p

Done the first deletion, but I'm struggling to open the wweb32.dll; I keep getting a message to say that windows cannot open the file and need to let them know which folder(?) I wish to open in. I've clicked the button that says find the folder on the internet, but nothing is coming up. Can I just open any folder on my computer or is there a specific one? It also says that as it's an application file I might damage my system if I open this file! I also have a file in the windows folder name 'twain32.dll' dated earlier than the windows one. Do I need to delete this one as well? Have we nearly done?

please NEVER delete anything unless I ask you to!

I asked you to use MALWAREBYTEs to remove the file

You need to ALLOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS first as directed in the link I sent

Then opn C drive, WINDOWS folder and its in there

Oops! I didn't open Malwarebytes! Have I done something dreadfully wrong? I opened everything as you said and manually deleted everything from the google toolbar. At what stage do I open MALWAREBYTES? I'll not do the windows deletion until I hear from you, just in case.

Before I delete this folder (file?), I want to check that I'm doing the right thing. I've gone into MALWAREBYTES and into the run 'more tools', that's brought up the folder WINDOWS SYSTEM 32, there are an awful lot of folders in there. Am I rtight in thinking that I have to delete ALL of these files? If so is there a quick way of doing it? If I have to delete individually I'll be there for hours!!

    NO NO NO!!

Your looking for ONE file in the WINDOWS folder (NOT system 32, which too is inside the WINDOWS folder) ~

    wweb32.dll

I've followed all you've said until I come to open the file wweb32.dll. I get a pop-up message to say that as these files are used by the operating systems and by various programs. Editing or modifying them could damage the system. Windows needs to know what program to use. I've opened Malwarebytes, then tried to find the file but it's not in there. I've tried typing the file name in and it says that the file doesn't exist! Where am I going wrong?
