  • I absolutely hate to say this - but I don't understand what you mean! I'll give it a go taking one step at a time though.
    Here goes!
  • Fine start! Can only find 3 threads!

To sort out your display try this
Go to User CP edit Options (Click Here)
    Scroll down to
    Thread Display Options

Use this option to set the number of posts to show in a thread before splitting the display into multiple pages.
Number of Posts to Show Per Page: change to 20 or 40

  • I've downloaded the combo fix file but I keep getting an error message to say that I can't rename combofix as combofix(1). I haven't tried to rename anything yet. I've tried right clicking the 'link'(?), but rename doesn't appear on the options.
Told you I was hopeless, didn't I. Thanks in advance.
  • Click START then RUN
Now type Combofix /Uninstall in the runbox and click OK. Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.

Then try to download combofix again

When you attempt to download, select SAVE then before SAVE again, highlight the 'combofix.exe' filename and RENAME to qwerty.exe THEN click save

Hope I've done things correctly. I found the 'combofix' file and ran it instead of uninstalling it. I couldn't find any renaming errors so don't know what to do now. I haven't renamed the file but have saved the log. (It took nearly 20 minutes!)
What do I do now? I feel as if I'm getting places very, very slowly!!

You need to post the log (probably need to split it into sections)

I'll post it now, I assume in a new thread. I've just had a pop up which says it's Vista Guardian, giving me an alert to say that 'unknown software is trying to take control over your system!' It says the details are :- Attack from: 227.248.55.9 port: 1. Attacked port: 9601 Threat: Devices.2000. It asks if I want to block the attack and, of course, I am now so paranoid I don't want to do anything. Can you advise? Thanks.
