LittleBit, keep up the overpayments. Every £1 you pay off you don't need to pay interest on again. I wish I could pay off £1000's but I can't but it all helps the mortgage to go int the right direction!

Sounds like a great idea, but i'm not sure I can make overpayments, or how to do it even, as mortgage different bank to our current account......... May have to look into how I can do this. Sounds like a great plan.
  • hi just wondering if anyone is with santander?
ive contacted them to find out how to make overpayments and they've told me i can do it online via my hsbc bank account, but would have to contact them each time to tell them where i want the money used?

Also sold some cloth nappies today, so that's another £25 to go in the mortgage pot.

HAHA we have cloth nappies for our little one. Think they have saved us a fortune and if baby 2 comes along they really will have. Though occasionally really un fun to clean. HAHAHAHA.

I have just checked the calculator, I will have to overpay by £600 a month to be mortgage free by the time I am 40. With £19,000 of debt to pay that might be a problem for the next year. But after that ;)

I know that every penny counts the little bits add up as you have proved on here and the pennies do count. Every penny is less interest. So keep up the fab work. :T
