Am just popping on to do a quite money update. We have been given £100 cash by the childminder this morning as she's going on holiday for 2 weeks, so we get that money back. I have £126.83 in my Paypal account now from the Ebay sales, and DH has just had £59.60 paid into his account for travelling expenses from work. So in total we've got £286.43 extra so far this month :j I've transferred all the Paypal money over to the current account, and then will move the money (bar postage) into the mortgage account. The money that DH got for travel I will transfer into his personal account as it's about £300 overdrawn. I think we will use the £100 cash for day to day living expenses and transfer the equivalent from the current account over to our savings, as in about 4 weeks time I will be going onto unpaid leave until I return to work in November.
Better crack on with sorting the washing whilst both boys are asleep `:DMummy to 3 fabulous boys all under 4 :eek:0 -
You are brave having all that ebay stuff ending at the same time. I can't bear more than about 4 parcels at a time when i go as it is so hard to keep an eye on DS2. DS1 is a good help though as he loves to pop the parcels through the hatch.
Know what you mean about how hard it is to get two asleep together. We occasionally manage it, but i use it for indulgent me time when we do.
Another one who is tired here as the kids keep waking up in the night and disturbing us. That and i was reading till about 12:30 last night and awake at 7am. Going to go off to bed really soon.0 -
Had a really busy weekend with some good money making
Did a car boot sale yesterday, but it was only a tiny one, and made £20 after the fee. Did one this morning and made £126 :j:j and that was after the £15 table fee
I'm so pleased as we've made some money and got rid of loads of things we didn't need any more. I also have more things ending on Ebay tonight and the total so far for Ebay this month is £193.50 :j:j I just wish we could actually OP the money to the mortgage instead of having to use it for our overdraft as we've had to pay loads out this month
I've lots of things to do this evening, but as we got up at 4.55am  I am just going to finish tidying the boys rooms and our room, vac upstairs and do both bathrooms, and then sit down for the evening.
Fingers crossed the Ebay things go up even more before they finish in 5 hoursMummy to 3 fabulous boys all under 4 :eek:0 -
Looks like it's going to be another gorgeous day today
We're going to my sister's today, and will be having a picnic in the park.
All my Ebay items have finished now, and I now have £254 in my Paypal account, and £150 left from the profit of the car boot sale, so we're £400 up :j:j and I still have another £40 to come, as someone will be coming to collect the cross trainer later this week
Well thats the good news. The bad news is that the overdraft is not looking too cracky, so most of it will be eatedn up in there. As long as it gets sorted though I don't mind.
The other big news is that we're going on holiday in a weekDH has had an extra bonus at work, and booked a suprise holiday without telling me. I would rather have put the money into the mortgage, but he says we don't get many treats and it will be nice to have a summer holiday together, as for a while we will actually be worse off when I go back to work.
So we're going to Fuerteventura a week today  I'm panicking about if we have everything we need, but I'm sure it will be fine. I'm going to get a list together today to make sure. We are going AI so shouldn't really need any spending money. The only thing we need to pay for is the kennel for the dog, and any drinks or snacks at the airport. I think I will use the rest of the car boot sale money for that.
I'd better get cracking with this list. Oh, and see if my sister has a bikini/tankini I can borrow as I don't have one at all!Mummy to 3 fabulous boys all under 4 :eek:0 -
Wow. What a lovely surprise and a thoughtful DH to arrange that. Did he also book the dog in a kennel? Availability for the cattery was limited and i booked ours in about 2 months ago.
I think i would be in a bit of a flap round about now. I am flapping about enough knowing i am going away at the weekend. If i don't see you again, have an absolutely lovely time.
Tankini? Ebay? use some of your paypal funds. You could pick up a nice bargain. I just sold my old speedo for 99p knowing i will never be that sort of shape again. Maybe check it out before you go as they will have new ones too.
Hope you get everything sorted with minimum stress and it is lovely.0 -
He has booked the kennel but not paid for it, so will have to use some of my Ebay money to pay for that. We are quite lucky in that whenever we've been away the kennel has always had spaces for the dog.
I've looked on Ebay for a bikini/tankini, but I don't know if they will fit... As I'm still feeding DS2 I'm kind of out of proportion :rotfl:
I think I will have a look in the supermarkets, I wouldn't have thought they would be too expensive. I saw a lovely one in Next, but it was £26!!
I had really better get off here, as I have so much to sort out before Wednesday xMummy to 3 fabulous boys all under 4 :eek:0 -
I'm back
Have had a really lovely holiday and it was as relaxed as you can be with a toddler and a baby. As we were all inclusive, we didn't really spend much, probably around £100 in total, and £25 of that was on some lovely photos of the boys that the hotel photographer took.
Am back on the moneysaving wagon now though. I've made an OP of £17 this morning to round my mortgage payment up to £700, and am going to list some more things on Ebay this month as soon as I've put away all the holiday things (yes I am being a lazy moo as I haven't done it yet)
I have a £30 cheque sat on the sideboard from a focus group, so that will be put in the post to the bank in the morning and then moved to the mortgage when it hits the account.
Have done a big shop today, and spend £92  But it did include £10 worth of dishwashing tablets which will last about 3 months, and some undies and socks for the boys. I'm going to try and do a £250 challenge this month for groceries and toiletries. I know that a lot of people manage on much less than this (and secretly my target is £200) but I don't want to fail on my first attempt, so £250 it is.
My challenges for this month are:
OP £100 to mortgage
Lose the 5lbs I've put on on holiday

Glad you enjoyed your holiday! have you got a nice tan?
Good luck with your £250 shopping challengeCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Sounds like you have come back like me, extremely focussed again. I feel like i haven't really stopped all week, but we'll get there. Glad you had a lovely time. We probably spent triple what you did, mostly on eating out, but that's life. Back to reality now eh?0

Yes I do feel a lot more focused, which is why I'm updating my thread at 20 past midnight instead of asleep
I've just signed up to be an Avon agent, so have spent the evening sorting my catalogues, labelling the order forms and bagging them up. I'm going to deliver some tomorrow morning whilst I just have DS2. Hopefully this will be a little side earner for me.
Am off to get a bit of sleep now as no doubt DS2 will wake for a feed in the night and then be up with the larksMummy to 3 fabulous boys all under 4 :eek:0
