thats good mate but the real test will come when there is some event on that u both want to goto and one of u cannot afford it, will she be willing to pay for u like u did for her on the last rave and if she cannot afford it what will u do, pay for her again? (i would hope not!)
good luck mate
Will
Well we have discussed this alot and both agreed, wel'll only go to events that we can both afford at the time. We can both save for future ones too. I used to want to go to raves more than being debt free but now its the other way round, being debt free is far more important than going to raves.
We did want to go to Global Gathering next week, the biggest dance event of the year. But were not as we both have work and cant really afford it.
Hoping things will stay like this now.0 -
nice one on the rave plans!,
as for the anniversary, tell her its only a £25 or whatever u want limit on presents, its not what they are mate its what they mean

One way to help you cut down costs on Blockbuster rentals and maybe swap Sky for Freeview in the long run is to join a good library. I get books, CDs and DVDs from library every week at a fraction of the cost.
Most decent libraries keep their stock right up to date. I can get recent films out and whole TV series, like 24 or CSI, out for 90p a week. That beats Blockbuster easy. Also, if you like a particular TV series you can get a whole series DVD out and watch episodes when there's nothing decent on the free channels.0 -
Apparently you cant get Free view where I live but a few friends said they have got it. Also someone on the forum said they rang sky and said they were moving to freeview and they gave him subscription really cheap til next year. Might give that a try.0

Another thing CM have you done your DVD tarting? Go through Quidco & do the free trials ( mae sure you cancel them though before they charge you)
MAybe if you have done them your GF coulod do them in her name to get the payback? Not bad, you get paid 7.50 for free trials etc. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Have done these before, will get my gf to have a go though. Thanks
***Update***
Just rang Sky and told them I was thinking of leaving for Freeview and they put me through to the promotions department, a very nice Scottish man was kindly on hand to help me. Told him the situation and he offered me the next 3 months subscription for half price, so £17.50. He also offered me the next 12 months for £27 instead of £6. Saved alot just from a quick phone call. Give it a goMade me happy

I've read your diary on and off for the last few days.
I am the queen of cheapo anniverasry ideas - last anniversary for me an OH - been togethr 4 years - scrap book from Wilko or somewhere - about £1, - worked out what I wanted to include in it - mainly memorable events in our time together - trips away, when I realised I loved himetc etc.
Created a lovely scrap book of our life so far - icluded photos, and my thoughts - loads of pages left - just spent a really nice evening with him updating it cos we have just bought our first house together...you seem like a couple very much in love so im sure she would appreciate the effort, rather than thinking your a nutter....:rotfl: :rotfl:
Then on the evening - meal or even cheaper still picnic on a nice day somewhere nice and romantic. Me and OH quite often jump in car with a picnic on a hot day go down to National Trust places, one nearest us has a huge lake, pay a couple of quid for parking then laze about there all day.
Just my suggestions HTH.
