  • Good for you making an effort to get your debt sorted out at 19. I would definitely get rid of Sky - you're working really long hours as it is so you can't have loads of time to watch it.

Nice to spend so much on your gf but a bit over the top - sorry I'm just cautious.

Anyway best of luck with your spending diary - you will be surprised at how much you actually spend - I always am.:T

I wouldnt be spending so much if my gf had any money, She only started her new job on Monday so dont get paid til Next friday. Plus she wont let me go without her, So muggins has to pay  ,

Speaking as a 20 year old girl myself ... the highlighted bit of your message peed me off a bit :o Who is she to tell you what you can and cant do? She wont LET you go without her?!! Thats out of order hun... if you wanna go and she wants to but SHE cant afford it you shouldnt feel OBLIGED to pay for her.... if you OFFERED to pay cos you genuinely wanted her to be there sooooo much and knew she couldnt afford it then ok... but your message strikes me as a "i wanna go... but the mrs said i cant go alone so ive GOT to pay for her to go too.."

Your spending way too much money on her instead of sorting out your debts... like your having to pay £2 in bus fare cos shes using YOUR ticket.. you paid for... to go to work!! (couldnt she get bus fare off her parents or someone else?) Oh and £300 on birthday presents in my eyes is wayyyy to much! id go mad if my boyfriend paid that out on me.... more than £40-50 and id freak out!! Specially if i knew he was in debt.... Its just too generous in my eyes... specially when ur paying for everything else for her too!!

Your in debt... therefore your finances are in the negatives... shes just got no money... so mathmatically... if you wanna be funny.. you could say she is better off than you! :p

Of course this is all my opinion.... and you can completely ignore it! :o :rotfl:

I agree in a way, but I do want her there with me even if I have to pay but jus annoys me sometimes that I do have to pay most of the time, But she has said she'l pay for me when she gets paid and stuff and I believe her. Were really close so like to be together alot. I never spent £300 on her alone, it was for presents and a night out for us both, but I get what your saying.
I will be changing after this weekend and she knows it, she does appreciate what I do too. Well at least I think and hope she does. Cant really be bothered to type alot today so ill explain more Sunday. Too excited about the rave tonight.

Thanks for your feedback though, its much appreciated :)

what does she actually pay for then?

my bf is quite skint - long story to do with an accident, but i'm earning full time and have some savings. i know he finds it awkward for me to pay for some things, but i offer and i know he appreciates it - but we limit it. He paid for a lot when we met. he does pay for some things - but how does she react when you do pay? - thats what says a lot

Give the poor lad a break! This thread & others he's posted on paint a different picture to the one being portrayed here! His GF has just finished college and this is her 1st job so it's natural he has been spending more on her.

Anyway, she bought him a pastie this week;) .

BUT young man, we'll be watching you, no more £200 weekends for you - we're all old enough to be your mother and we're all on your case:eek:
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

how did the Rave go CM?and its good to see ur going to turn over a new leaf and going to plough on and get ur debt down :j since ive started at the begining of this year ive moved Heaven and Earth to pay as much as i can off my debt this year. and im trying to get my debt. You will find it great seeing lump sums coming off ur debt and seeing urself get closer to ur debt free date :)I highly recommend it as its made me feel so much better that ive nearly knocked off a year and a half of my orginal debt free date and im hoping to get it down even further :D

Doing your GSCE's again would be a good move especially English and maths as lots of employers do look for it.

Also as suggested above get yourself a website and do some programming - you should be able to get some books from the library. Also doing an IT course might be a good move if you can't get a job straight away.

But £200 for a night out is waaaaay too much. If you ever want to be debt free you'll really have to tackle that one.

Perhaps you could go to the cinema/bowling/iceskating/picnics/ country walks etc. or limit the raves seriously.

Good Luck and if you want to get out of debt you;ll find all the advice you need on this website. At least you've realised early in your life to sort it out.
