  • GL with the interview, I work in IT and find experience counts for a lot when going for higher level jobs, getting that first break is great, make sure you give it ya best shot :)

If things prove a bit tougher, as I say, get coding on your own, start to build up some web projects, find an area that interests you and throuw yourself into it. There is so much going on across the web its not hard, just takes time and effort. I think our biggest challenge is often one of motivation, If only I had spent more time bettering myself than meeting up with mates etc I would have got further ahead im sure :(!

The people I see in my company that get ahead are the keen, enthusiastic ones, the people who get left behind are the ones that treat it like a job, moan everytime they have to do extra work, dont take on extra responsability off their own back etc...

set a good work ethic now and you'll be sorted, you get to reap the rewards later, much better than pssing around now and then paying the consequences later... :)

    good luck :)!

Thanks, I understand what your saying but atm with the job im in I wouldnt have time to do anything you suggested, But will definately look into it when I change my job which hopefully shouldnt be that long. Im not afraid of hard work and doing more than I have to infact when working I prefer to be busy and doing lots than not doing alot and lousing around. Just hope someone is willing to give me a chance to show them what I can do :) Thanks for the advice Dead.

Just wanted to say all the very best of luck to you on becoming debt free :) You sound like a top bloke to me, and your GF is a lucky lass,Im sure she knows that, the pics you show of her are very smiley ;)

Another thing to suggest, Im sure youve heard before? But is there anything you could sell? Every little bit counts and that provi loan must be costing you a fortune- best to get out of that before it ends up costing you WAY more than youj ever borrowed

Good luck for the interview :D
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Tbh I sold ALOT of stuff last year and early this year when I was in need of money, and before I used this site. When i was stupid with money. I am going to have a look through my house and find some stuff to sell, My moms doing a car boot on Sunday so will ask her to take some stuff for me. As for the Provi loan, I borrowed £300 and am paying summit like £460 back  Shocking I know, But I was desperate at the time. Learning as I go now though. Thanks for the tips :)

    Friday 21st July 2006.

Just got back from my interview and think it went ok, Got a little nervous but thats expected. Looks like a good job if I can get it. Certainly better than my current one. They said they've got a few more people to see and will be intouch with me next week. Really hope I get this job, will be a good career if I do well at it.

Anyway apart from that, Im feeling ok today. Got paid as its Friday, but going to a Rave in Wiltshire tomorrow so wont have any money left by Sunday Lol. But after this weekend im gonna start knuckling down and paying off what I should be and hopefully can have a freshh start if I get a new job.

Whats everyone else upto this weekend?

Naughty, Naughty raver! hope your doing it DFW stylee, my suggestion is to save up all of those glow stick thingys so to reduce your outlay! Maybe you could have a special account to pay for them!! :D

Im heading on a cheap weekend to a friends house, so DFW! :money:

Well Ive got my Grandad to drive me down there, So that'l save me some money on travel and Im going to buy some glow sticks in a shop by me for 30p each instead of £3 at the rave. Also persuaded my gf that she DOES NOT need ANOTHER new outfit ;)

...But the tickets are £25 each so will probably end up spending £200 this weekend. BUT everyone needs a little fun ;) And I will be working hard after this weekend as a DFW nerd. This is my last bit of fun for a while. I promise

Im going here, if anyones interested http://www.digitalcircusfestival.com/

Hi cm_johnson. I understand what you say about everyone needing a little fun and you are right.

But I hope you mean what you say about after this weekend you will start knuckling down. Look at my signature (and my debt is reduced by a couple of grand....)....pretty much all that was accumulated by saying to myself things along the lines of 'everyone needsa little fun....'.

    Don't let it become you.

I don't mean to sound like yer Mum, honest! Just.....be careful.

As for my weekend I am out for a little drink and a meal (no starter for me!) with old mates tonight (will get lift there and hopefully back to save on taxis) and then tomorrow night I am staying in with a free DVD and some rum & coke which my OH bought.
