Thursday 27th July
Just a few things, I have just noticed on my bank statement that LOVEFILM.Co.uk withdrew £13.97 for my dvd membership which I cancelled about 4 months ago on 25th July.
I'll start from the begining, I cancelled this membership a few months after the trial ended and they kept billing me to my home address saying they were unable to take the money from my account. I left it for a while and recieved a letter from a debt agency, so rang them about it and they said the case had been sent back to LOVEFILM. I thought that they had finally realised I had cancelled my membership and that was that, Now I have just noticed they took £13.97 out and as you can imagine, im not a happy bunny. So i would like to recieve this back. Can anyone advise me on what to say and do please?
Today i have spent:
£1 on bus fare for GF
55p on two stamps for job applications
£3.97 on a ruler and FREE cd player, advertised on here. GREAT offer.. Check it here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=233344
Wont be spending anything else today, payday as usual tommorow. So will be paying bills off :rolleyes:0 -
Have you got proof you cancelled it? If so, it may be worth speaking to your bank.
I would also write them a very stroppy letter/email stating all the facts (don't forget to treat them like the stupid idiots that they are
). Explain that you will be reporting them to trading standards and you will also be writing a 'review' of their company on a very well know DVD/Film forum! This will scare the pants off them
If you haven't had any films from them recently, don't forget to mention that and give them the date and title of the last film you returned to them.
Was it a DD? if so, you will need to cancel it with your bank or they can still take it again next month! We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Thanks melt. Just rang them and they had recieved my cancellation but a dvd never got returned so they left my account open. I told them i had sent all the dvds back and he told me that the refund department would be in touch within 28 days and they'll sort it all out. Hopefully this will happen and he wasn't just fobbing me off. Thanks again
ps think they owe me about 3 or 4 months worth of payments
Be good when I get it all back. 0 -

Its only 11am and im already having a bad day

Got up feeling rough still with this cold.. To find what I thought was my order from staples along with my free cd player. The ruler is there along with a welcome pack but not a cd player in site. I will sort this out in a minute, then I find a letter from the company I had a job interview with, saying I hadnt been given the job. Soo gutted, depressed and fed up again now. Just wanna cry... _pale_ :wall:
Also had a big arguement with my gf, dont know whats happening now. Yet again, I seem to be going no where and just back to the start now. Feeling depressed and wanting to go and spend some money on myself which I know I cant !!

OH NO CM

Nothing worse than not getting the job is there? I had that week before last and I was absolutely gutted.
Hun why did you have an argument with the gf? Was it over money? I do hope not
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Why not try the Alvin hall trick of letting yourself buy yourself a treat. but only with a fiver (or even less, £2?). You can buy whatever you like to cheer yourself up. Chin up about the job, it happens to us all. Their loss anyway.Debt Oct 2005: £32,692.94
Current debt: £14,000.00
Debt free date: June 20080 -
To make things worse, I got a long weekend of work.
Here's my weekend
Friday - 3pm - 11pm
Saturday - 7.30am - 2pm Then 4pm - 11pm
Sunday - 10am - 4pm then 6pm - 10pm
Thats 30.5 hours in the next 3 days. So need cheering up. Really want a xbox 360 too but cant, because of me being DFW ..0 -
That seems really harsh mate! Bad things come in 3's and you've had 3 bad things happen in the last 12 or so hours so that should mean you're not due another one for quite a while!
Personally I would buy myself a treat for under £5 if the budget allows it of course. When you make it through this weekend with all that's happening you'll feel better in the knowledge that you made it through!Waddle you do eh?0
