I have a phatty ;)ps3 , its fantastic , popped in 500gig hdd , it holds a good 250gig of HD content (blu ray rips) , plays blu ray disc , great media player , free online gaming , 3D update coming in the summer , and with the new motion controllers (ARC) ,cant go wrong .
I've owned both , and the only issue i,ve had with sexbox is the reliablity (rrod) although this might be fixed now , its caused me a SHXT load of hassle .
    Thats why i converted to ps3 !

I still think the PS3 is overpriced personally (considering the Xbox360 can be bought for under £100 new now)

Apologies if this has been covered already.

Thats not a fair comparison. The PS3 comes with wireless built in, is an excellent media centre and blu ray player. Well worth £230. If it were any cheaper, no one would be able to make blu ray players as they wouldn't be profitable!

Xbox for me - I got mine for £90 and so far (touch wood) haven't had a problem. The interface is easy to use, the controllers are comfy and the trigger buttons in reachable places (no finger acrobatics) And I just like it. Mate of mine was saying how FF13 will be better on PS3, but dya know what, I don't care, cos I betcha 360 even with seperate discs will have a faster loading and play time than a Blu-Ray packed full.

And it gets on XBox Live PDQ

I do it all because I'm scared.

Just install the game to the hard drive. No faffing on with swapping discs, faster load times and much less noise.

If you take online gaming for example, I am pretty sure that PS Network is not even close to MS XBox Live, which is also confirmed by some of my friends who own both Consoles. We usually compare the Big titles like COD6 (MW2) and Socom which we used to play on the PS2 already. The lag is unbelievable on Sonys Network, which always makes us play XBox together.

thats odd because in my experience i have had loads of lag on xbox live and none on psn.

the 360 has project natal coming out and can get N wifi due to having seperate wifi
i stream my media so hard dirve sizes dont really matter to me
though the PS3's gigabit lan does
funnily enough the 360 is faster to go through the streaming menus than the PS3 as a 'great media player'
with all these threads theres never a clear winnier

anewhope, I'll not be buying FF13 until my uni year is finished, or it'll all go to the wall. And I can then get a beastie of a HDD for my XBox and save the game to it.....and even more sadly, how do i do it?

Do those of you who have XBOX's find it runs VERY loud. Mine has been drowning out the tv and I have to turn the volume up very high and it's just damaged a disk. I've asked some friends and they think it's much louder both upright and on its side and it's damaged one of my new games so I'll be having words with GAME tomorrow...

They sold me it pre-owned saying it was a 20gb elite when it's a premium and I only realized after opening it and breaking the seal... Not happy!
  • I have always been an xbox man myself...bought the original almost on day of release, bought a ps2 eventually cause I played Killzone on my mates and bought it but still bought a 360 first and yes it is VERY loud for a computer...It is a great computer but as for the exclusivity of its games the ones for the 360 also come out on pc and I actually prefer to play them on pc FPS is what I'm referring to here...so I swapped it for a PS3 and believe I made the correct choice...but as most people are saying it is really up to what you want from a machine or what games that each machine will exclusivly release as to which console you should pick.

I know this wont help anyone in the slightest but just thought I should give my opinion!

    Scott.

There is no such thing as a 20GB elite, that should have been a clue.
