  • We had our youngest DS6 at the speech and language unit yesterday, he was referred here by his teacher when he first started school,as they had problems understanding him or getting a full sentence from him, however after a year on the waiting list, attended the appointment and he's fine she seems to think he's just a late developer. That's one worry off my mind, going out to lunch today with an old friend I haven't seen since before xmas, so looking forward to that and maybe do a bit of shopping while I'm out

Evening ppl....have you all had a good saturday?

Nicky - glad your wee one's appt went ok. Did you all have a good time swimming?
Joannag - hope you didnae have too much of a hangover this morning :D
2boysmum - so glad your ds is ok.

My day started off great...I got all the chores done, without too much stress. The kids helped while ds4 watched a dvd. After an early lunch we were gonna take the dog out but it decided to pour water onto us (musta been all that swimming you lot did lol) so we stayed in and all watched a movie together. Oh came home about 1 and from there the day went downhill all the way. He wandered round barking at the kids like a bear with a sore head! ..I got fed up and went shopping for tea with dd11 I also did some girly shopping with her, buying her a top and some undies, and bought some new pillows for me (Im sleeping with my head in the clouds tonight:rotfl:) When we got home, poor dd11, ds8 and ds4 were all told off for minor things..I told him he was overreacting and to calm down..he went off in a huff...MEN!!!

Took the kids to the park and walked the dog..giving the bear some time to get rid of his sore head!...had dinner and now what...he's says he got a headache and has taken himself off to bed. I cannae win today!

Still....having a brew, gonna relax and watch some telly with dd11 (others in bed) so I can chill...tmrw's another day :).

Hope you all had a good day and here to tmrw

We had a great time thankyou. Although we came out & I said we could have just saved the money & stood outside as it was raining vary hard. Where in the SW are you? We are in Swindon although I grew up in Cornwall & OH originates from Somerset.

We had a relaxing afternoon, watched a DVD. Then I went upstairs & did some sorting, the girls followed me up so I got them to chose a few toys (they have so many) to put in a bag to pass on to a friend who works in a residential school for children with disruptive behaviour. They have done this a few times & are always happy to pass things on, although I do have to supervise as sometimes they give things that are special to us.

Hope everyone else had a good day.

    Can i join please :D

I have 2 children, DS is 8 and DD is 7 (going on 17). And an OH.

I only work part time, fish and chip shop owned by my brother so he is my boss:eek:,but with split shifts, lunch and evenings, it feels like full time!!!!!! OH works full time permenant nights, although he has been on short time for the last year or so  so money is really tight.

Alarm is set for 6am Mon - Fri, OH gets in around 6.30am and goes to bed around 7.30am, DS is usually up between 5am and 6am, DD i have to drag out of bed at 7.30, kids are ready for 8am, a friend and i split the school runs, she picks up DS at 8.20 to walk to junior school with her eldest and leaves her youngest son with me who i take to infant school with my DD. Tea time we swap and i pick my DS and her DS up and she picks my DD and her DS up i then drop her DS off and pick my DD up and go home!!! Hope you all understood that :rotfl:

I think that is the most organised part of my life :rotfl:

I have 3 days a week 'free' and don't seem to get anything done apart from the usual household chores, so my aim is to be as organised as my mornings and t-times

I have a list a mile long of things that need to be done around the house and garden so i am hoping for some inspiration and motivation from
you lot ........... thats if you're not all too exhausted :rotfl:

I hope i haven't waffled too much and have a good week.

    Hello Everyone!

What a great response to this thread! Sorry that I haven't been popping in but I have now read through and I will be here from now on. I have a DD at primary school and I work full time. Sadly I am another person who is mega organised at work and a bit of a shambles at home. The last thing I want to do at the end of the day is housework so I put it all off until the weekend and then feel that I never get a break.

Initially I had a good routine with lunches being made and clothes being looked out the day before but all those good habits have fallen by the wayside. The week evenings are quite busy too with lots of clubs and family commitments. I have been saving time by getting a fruit and veg box delivered so I hardly ever go to the supermarket anymore and clothes and gifts are also ordered online to save time.

Anyway enough about me how are you all??

  • Hello everyone,

    Can I join? I work 8.30 - 4.30 term time only & have 2 daughters (13 & 2) a dh, a cat & 2 lovebirds :p.

    My homelife is chaos ...
~Monday i go to exercise class
~Tuesday dh goes out, dd1 brings 2 friends home for tea & i then play taxi for their dance classes which means dd2 is late in bed
~Wednesday i go to slimming world & dd1 goes out for tea (then guides)
    ~Thursday dh goes out
~Friday my parents collect dd1 from school so i pick up from there
~Weekends are just housework & homework.

Before I got a job in a school i worked full time & dd1 was in breakfast club, afterschool club & holiday club unless my parents could mind her.

My mum has always finished work early on a Friday to collect her since she started school so even if she had to go to afterschool club, she was being collected earlier than usual :D

I used to be organised but since having dd2 & getting married things have slipped & I really need a shove to get back on track!

    Hi everyone :D
I am a working mummy to my DD 7 and my DS 9 months. My OH is technically a SAHD but he has Chrons disease and we regularly have to get grandparents to help out, which can sometimes mean its me looking after 2 kids, and the OH and the house and working ... so getting organised is something I should be good at, but low and behold ... it isnt !!

My main thing is batch cooking !! Life saver - just spend one evening cooking a load of food and freeze it all, or over cook dinner every night for a week and freeze the leftovers and you have a weeks worth of dinners sitting ready !!

So, am I going to be a domestic goddess with perfect kids by the end of this thread ???? lol

Money maker you may not end up a domestic goddess but hopefully you will feel less frazzled and maybe manage a bit of time for yourself!
