It implies that anything but the cheapest HDMI cable has an absolutely obscene markup, and you'd be a fool to pay it.

The bottom line is as far as HDMI cables are concerned, buy cheap. Anything else is a waste of money unless a long run of cable is needed.

i have a 10m hdmi lead running from my media PC to my TV, £8 from ebay

works perfectly @ 1080/60, i even play call of duty on it

with digi if the signal breaks down you will notice it instantly

I cant disagree that a lot of places have taken the p*ss where pricing is concerned

We've had the cable debate several times on here... suffice to say as HD develops and more bandwith is squeezed down over time the level at which quality/bandwidth limits etc becomes an issue will come down.... but for short lengths I've yet to notice any difference.

....mind you i'd be wary of any cables that are 'too cheap' in the sub £1.80-£2 range in case the terminations/basic quality becomes an issue.

You probably wouldnt realise the bonding process is breaking down

Probably not, which is my exact point! IT DOESNT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE!

just because you cant tell a difference on YOUR equipment doesnt mean someone else wouldnt using their eyes, ears and equipment

I cant tell the difference on anyone elses equpment either, I know someone that spent nearly £80 on one lead and didnt see the difference on his setup either (I did take my lead round there to compare, even he admitted he could see the difference)

He felt like a mug. Just as anyone who spend £80 on a lead that does the same job as one that costs £3 should.
