NEW ICICI Feedback Poll - Are the problems all cleared up?

Only problem I had was that my Cahoot acccount did not have a cheque book and I had to get one just so I could open the ICICI account. 5 weeks in and so far so good.0

We had some initial teething problems with the account - mainly due to everything being slow and dragging on for a couple of weeks - much longer than expected,
Since then, everything has been fine except that our access to the account was blocked as neither my wife nor I had logged in for a few months. It took two lots of phone calls to get new passwords issued, but this was done quickly and we were kept informed by email. We now both regularly log in and all seems to run well.

We tried opening an account, and sent the initial cheque for £1. They returned the cheque as we'd written it in Welsh. (We always write cheques in Welsh, and have never had any problems, even in shops out of Wales.) When my OH rang up to ask why they wouldn't accept the cheque, they stated that they only accepted cheques written in English, and refused to put him through to a manager, even when the operative was reminded that Welsh is a legally recognised language in Britain!0

I've had an account since April - initially it takes a while to move money from my current account to the ICICI as it takes a while to get the direct debit sorted, but since then, everything seems great, and it seems to only take two days rather than three for payments to go from my savings account to my current account. Great product, long may it continue!Indecision is the key to flexibility0

I joined ICICI just after its UK launch and everything went smoothly. However, after I made a successful subsequent deposit using their website they just cancelled the direct debit mandate but could not explain why (something that many customers moaned about in the early days). Now I just use my current account, with another bank, and make BACS transfers/deposits online to ICICI which takes the whole process completely out of their hands. Always works a treat with the money earning interest 3 banking days after it leaves my current account. Chances are that they have long since resolved that problem but I'm pretty spineless so no chances are being taken.0

I applied a few months ago then decided after all the bad rept to withdraw my money and close the account. Decided recently to open a new account, they said i could only have one open at a time, told them i was under the impression the old one was closed they said they'd arrange for it to be closed and i should send the cheque again. the cheque was returned to me AGAIN. it has been sent back as apparently they have closed my first account.
am still waiting to hear and that was over 4weeks ago0 -
I opened an account in May, following Martin's instructions and have gradually transferred sums into it from my main (non-performing) savings account. My only problem was when I forgot my password - I was locked out of my account and it took them 10 days to replace my password - most places use an instant email or my other bank sent one by return of post. As it turned out this wasn't a problem but I could have been locked out from my cash for that period if I had needed it.0

Opened my account sometime last year. Had some problem with the password early on (didn't realise the password could ONLY be six digits long) but apart from the site being down on a couple of occasions, usually for no more than a day in my experience, so far so good.0

I have had no problems opening the account or transferring money although it's a pain that you can only transfer money to and from one external account. The only problem is when you try to communicate with them either by phone or e-mail, it's difficult to get any sense out of them. I requested a certificate of tax deducted for my tax return - several times - it never did arrive despite their saying they'd sent it by courier. I gave up and just calculated the interest myself but it could have been a problem if the Inland Revenue had asked for evidence. Although I am using them because of the high rate I'm not 100% comfortable about having my money with them and I can't quite put my finger on why.0
