Just noticed there's a token on the Yorkshire Tea cakes (and all the other YT products). If you collect 10, you can send them in and they'll send you a voucher for a free cake! :j

You can also 'buy' tea towels, mugs etc for your tokens, but have to pay P&P. Or send them to a Freepost address and they'll give money to a tree planting initiative. All details are on their website www.yorkshiretea.co.uk - go to Gifts.

Like I needed a reason to eat more cake :o:p

I've already thrown my packaging away! :o Haven't sent off my TMF application yet - got to remember as there's a 21 day deadline!

  • I must question the ethics of this type of activity. If the product genuinely doesnt do what it says on the tin and dissapoints - I agree with asking for your money back. To buy it, knowing you will ask for a refund is disgusting. Some people have no social concience!

Some products are called "Try Me Free" where the food companies WANT you to try their product and give them feedback on it. You don't have to dislike the product. A true Try Me Free is when the food companies will refund your money spent on it and wants your opinion on the product (good or bad). This sort of research is valuable to food companies to help them develop their products. So I only participate in the true Try Me Free offers however, if a product tastes horrible, I'm definately going to write the company and tell them.

Also, you might do better at starting off at MSE if you don't prejudge people. I buy Try Me Free's that the food companies are promoting knowing I am going to get a refund. That's why it is a "Try Me Free" promotion and that's what this thread is all about. Hope that explains some to you. ;)

Spotted a new Taste Guarantee today on Gourmet cat food - found mine in Asda. It was on a 12-tray pack, but the small print suggests that it'll be on tray and pouch multipacks of various sizes.

If your cat doesn't like the product, you must return the coupon from the back of the promo box, along with at least half of the contents (so, in the case of my 12-pack, you must return 6 of them) and till receipt. You can do this with up to two boxes (i.e. buy 24 trays, keep 12 and return 12) - for a full refund plus the 2nd class postage cost of returning the unused trays.

A bit convoluted - but still works out at 12 trays free based on the pack size I spotted... and there may be even bigger multipacks out there!

Closes in 2008 - sorry, don't have exact details to hand at the moment.

Can anyone advise me of where I have to send the Danone Activia yogurt receipt ot claim the cost of 14 days trial back? Package says to look on their website but it does not seem to give an address - do I just send to the address on the packaging?

Also - quick possible tip re the small mini-tasters of wine at Asda at present. Idea is you buy small bottle at £1.50/£2 then, when you buy the big bottle, you use the voucher to get that amount off the big one. I took one little bottle and went through the self scanning till, but it would not accept it. I tried a second time and it just kept saying I had exceeded my limit! Called over assistant who tried too, and eventually we realised they were actually ringing up but 'silently' in the background and not appearing on the purchese so far. Thus I had 'bought' 5 bottles by this time so assistant had to void 4 of them. Imagine my delight when receipt gave me not 5 but 9 vouchers for £1.50 off!!!! Problem with the self scan tills aparently, but she said I could keep all the vouchers as no use to her! Thus I have £13.50 worth of vouchers for £1.50 spend!
