Hi,
Firstly if this is in the wrong place, please move it
I don't know if it is me but I have problems with the search facility on here, does anyone else?
There seems to be a delay in my post being searchable, if I post a reply and then search for it later, or the next day, it is not found within the search and yet it is still on the forum, it's the same if I search threads or posts, dependant upon which I have done.
I also have problems searching for other peoples posts or specific terms.
I am aware I can subscribe to a post and find it that way but shouldn't the search work immediately, or at least within a few hours? or am I doing something wrong?
I am a member of many v bulletin forums and I don't have this problem on those sites.

It's a problem with the MSE site setup/servers somewhere.
It didn't used to be a problem, but since some "upgrades" last year the problem has been very bad. A bit better lately though, but still annoying.
There have been complaints and questions on the site feedback board, but so far nothing from MSE.
Perhaps you should post there?

The only thing I would say is that using search is becoming a bit of an 'exact science': now, should it be? Good or bad? After all, by definition, searching - for results - means exactitude. And I do use the search facility extensively .0

The forum search on this version of vBulletin is far from impressive though.

I shall now subscribe to this thread just in case the search facility fails to find it. Hint

Search using google, for posts on site, probably better results.
