Search using google, for posts on site, probably better results.
site:http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com "The search facility"
I do that sometimes.
Unfortunately, even that is not always very up to date, and some parts of the forum are not indexed by googlebot at all.
Plus it's hard to search specific boards, threads etc.....
What is really needed is a built in forum search that:
a) Is actually up to date.
b) Offers the advanced search features that you would expect from any decent search.
The vBulletin search here falls down on both of those.

(And when you do find the result you want I wish there was a way to stop the highlights.)0

After searching you will get a URL in the address bar like this
forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2288715&highlight=search+facility
remove the &highlight=whatever+your+searching+for
and load the page again, the highlight will go.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
