Have you got a blender or hand held blender? as you could buy a tin of value toms, add some herbs and in a matter of minutes you've got a good sauce for pasta.

A curry, didn't think of that one. As don't eat them very much,

yes i have a hand blender

no tins of tomatoes but got mixed hebs

got a beef in ale packet mix so can make a beef in ale pie

tinned tomatoes cost about 33p each and once you've made your own pasta sauce, you won't go back to the ready made ones.
