  • MBaz - for after the snow........ I dunno if you have a pinewood or pine trees anywhere near you - but we collect pine cones (when near one on the mainland - not many pine trees here!) and keep them as they make amazing fire starters!

And I always have a basket of them lying around - I love the look of them and its dries them even more

You only need a few to start a fire - think its all the oil in the cone

    Hey T/Mrsa2b

Yup madly house hunting (i think i've found a new one but will get in touch with solicitors on Monday and put in my interest) and trying to fathom WHEN to tie the knot with OH - we've a location and I've picked some wellies :) but need to fathom a proper date!

SO lots of sums to afford houses and looking at calenders to see if we can sort things for this year .................:)

All good - kids, doggie etc all great as well!

well not a lot, its been a housework day, but I did walk a 3 mile round trip to the supermarket rather than take the bus, and that paid for the hairdye i so desperately needed to not look a total state at work next week:p

Determined not to spend another penny til thursday when unfortunately I need to be at the airport at 4am, so no other way than take a taxi :'( Will get it refunded eventually by work but it doesnt half blow a hole in the budget until they get round to it.

What an awful day today! Forgot my lunch and tea bags so spent 80p at work on coffee and lunch, good job its subsidised. Have had the most excruciating headache all day, managed to work my 6.5 hrs, not sure how I managed to get home and then BAM the most awful migraine I have ever had :( Slept for a few hours and touch wood the pain has pretty much gone, just feeling a tad delicate now. Am on the sofa with my head propped up lol. Am back in at 7am, just hope it doesnt come back.

Thanks for the welcome back Belle, its nice to be back, lots of different faces now!

Hello hun, hows things with you? Its weird coming back, I feel like I abandoned you all! I just dont know where the time has gone just lately. Do you hear from Andan? And hows Sophiesmum? I see she posts on another thread, but not here now :(
  • good evening...
Today I have felt very rubbish just a cold and sore throat but am wheezing lots which is rubbish!! However in light of this new found board I have tried still to do a few productive things...
So went to farm and got some meat whcih i have portioned into smaller portions than usual for the slow cooker - I don;t mind having just the veg in hot pot so have made them meat portions smaller and other half can have most of the meat and it will last longer... trickery trickery!!
I have made a huge pan of chilli and divided into 6 - we will have chilli every monday for 6 weeks.
done some house work - cleaned kitchen had pancakes for tea as we missed pancake day on Tuesday as away! ( good news about feeling rubbish is that i;ve not eaten really all day - had one pancake and went for a sleep!!) so that was the cheapest tea ever ( well probably not but it was very cheap!) Maybe i should include them on my monthly menu!!
Have made butties for tomorrow and have eaten 2 oranges in the hope that the vitimin c might help me!!
Tomorrow I will write to the gym to cancel my membership ( still have to pay for the next 3 months as tied into 12 month contract , but at least if i've done it theres no risk it will roll over. I can say I am a total idiot for joining - i should know myself better by now but alwasy convince myself i will do it this time!! £900 it will have cost me and I dont' think i've been 10 times in total...never never never again...

now that the weekend is nearly finished is this thread restarted next friday or does it go through the week too.. may not make it on tomorrow as working very very late
Sorry for the waffle - My OH doesn't care what money saving things i do - and neither do my dogs... or cats!! :)
