MONEY MAKING- THEN MONEY SAVING

@Paul you would become an Arthur Daley figure. That is a used car dealer.

You have to start at the beginning of the thread...
And then, if you make enough, you needent prioritize on saving it anymore- like the rest do.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Joe-Bloggs:
Danny's philosophy is that he can't make money if we know how he makes it.
I'm not aware of any car dealers that refuse to sell cars on the basis that if we knew they sold cars they would not make money!
So Danny cannot be Arthur Daley - simple logic!0 -
@Paul
I confined my post to your question. So, if I buy three sports cars then, is that money making or money saving?
I never mentioned Danny in my post. You made a logical assumption that turned out incorrect. I suggest you research Arthur Daley's get rich schemes. These have to remain a secret because they tend to flex the boundaries of truth and the law.

I get the feeling that Danny has been reading some new books on investing and he is trying to articulate his new viewpoints.
I agree with him on one point, investing is not the same as saving. Saving is sticking cash away (perhaps in a cash account) for a nominal interest rate. Investing is buying an investment which eventually pays for itself and starts paying you pure profit while you can reinvest the original purchase stake elsewhere. You can also sell the investment at a later date. Examples include houses, gold, stocks and so on. Investing and saving are fundamentally different.
Danny also says that he is not going to tell us what clever stuff he is up to. He makes out it is because he is making money and it wouldn't work if he told us, but fairly obviously it is because he isn't actually doing anything. Given that he is the second most intelligent person contributing to this site, I am sure it won't take long for him to kick start his big money-making idea.
I'm going to start a new thread. "I've thought of the best idea in the world but I'm not going to tell you what it is."0 -

Pal i wont ask you who you think is the most intellegent person on the site, as you may feel the need to lie. ;D ;D ;DThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I think that when Danny uses the term SAVING, he means saving money when you spend money - not saving as stashing your money away in cash accounts.
As far as INVESTING is concerned, he is saying that you should use your money to work for you in the best way possible but whatever 'way' that is he is not prepared to tell us.
He claims that telling us this would prejudice his money-making ability and as this is only a money-saving site why should he tell us anyway! If that is the case, why does he even bother mention it! And if money-saving is only the number two priority how is it he has the time to make so many post here in such a short time!
I suppose if, in investing his money, he manages to come across money-saving schemes he will tell us - see his posts on choosing the cheapest mortgages which go some way to justifying this viewpoint.
My own belief is, he has to come to this website because he has taken too many risks and now has to ‘tighten the purse strings’.
However, he cannot get away for his high-brow ideas and is not prepared to learn from others. Perhaps that is the biggest mistake he can make in managing both his money and his life!0 -

He probably won't
.
I want to be a good saver, but I find it difficult to control my temptation to spend.
I owe £1,247 more than I have in savings.

If you looks at the mortgage board you will find that he is a property mogul whose house prices have only ever gone up, meaning of course that they will always only ever go up. I am not sure why he didn't mention this when he first posted, but assume it was because he didn't want all of us jumping on the BTL bandwagon worsening the position for him. BTL is something I hadn't thought of before and will now investigate closely.
Danny is a great addition to this board and it is wonderful having him around. I wish you lot would stop being so cynical.0
