So businesses rely on consumer inertia. This applies to Banking , Insurance, Credit cards, Energy etc. In other words it pays to shop around.
It might be more advantageous to quote the best price you found to your original supplier.

Alliance and Leicester are offering a superb discounted internet deal, fixed at 4.64% (6.7% APR) over 2 years for new lenders. I find this is the best rate. Plus it dampens some peoples fears over interest rates rising. Just switch after 2 years, DO NOT STAY.

I cant see rates lowering in the next 2 years below this.

(better than any of the other motgage offers Ive seen. check it out. Offers end soon though)
    :)

I appreciate your enthusiasm. It would benefit all if you learned when to use borrowers and lenders.

Hang on... now it Wouldnt be logical for you to explicitly tell ME how you make YOUR money WOULD  it...?

No it wouldn't be logical, but as you mention it I'll tell you to see if that gets this discussion anywhere. I have two sources of income - investment income (mainly cash at the moment, but some stocks and shares) and wages from full time employment.
Then ID know, along with every other reader ON here. Low and behold, buisness would be one step ahead
( of us all). Id rather not loose my money this way, thank you all the same.

Now I have told you where my income comes from, is business one step ahead? Have you lost money?

I don't understand what you are trying to say.
Its simply all a game. Using your loaf. You say
"but thats just common sense".... so USE IT.

Try as I might I have no idea what you are on about. Can you please explain?
Ill tell you 1 way how to save money, no problem:

If you plan to borrow more money on your existing home,  Remortgage every time to a new lender. Most existing lenders appeal to the new customer, but not their existing ones.  ('HALIFAX' BEING ONE EXAMPLE)
Try ringing as you, then as a new customer. They'll give you 2 quotes. On the 2nd You'll save a fortune.
(which is also why you should also never tie in, with redemption penalties)

    There you go.

Your first post suggests that people should be investing to get ahead, but the example you give is that you can get cheaper mortgages if you want. This reduces your debt. It is not an investment.

Apologies if I am missing the obvious but I have no idea what your point is. If you have done something clever (either using the site or not) please post some details. I'd love to see it.

I thought Martin's ethos was all about getting more for your money, so cutting back on the amount you have to spend to maintain your quality of life and helping each other out with advice on how to do this. Sorry, I really don't understand dannyinmanchester's post.

    Well Of course you would.

However I've made my point on here already, and youre not missing it-

I responded to some1 asking me to be more helpful. therefore I suggested 1 way of SAVING MONEY.

However, not INVESTING IT- because i refuse to.
This is, after all... a money SAVING site. I am not obliged to discuss anything else really.

My reason for this being, that Every1 can cotton onto buisness ideas, which will have a knock-on effect- meaning companies would make sure they were ahead of everybody, including ME. You find me 1 person on here who details how they INVEST. Even you have still not told me!

I consider myself in a minority earning loophole at present. So i would like to remain that way.

(i would ultimately loose my money by telling- its an eventuality in blurting out any financial strategy -
cant you see that? Of course you can- youre just fishing!)

My point though, is to prioritize in INVESTING and not SAVING your money.
