Beans on toast is a meal.

If you can cook beans then you can boil vegetables.

My husband microwaves beans and pours them onto his toast. Not the same as getting veg out of hot water. No physical disability here and I do understand the point you are making but not everybody cooks beans in a pan :)

BTW my husband is the carer !
Every day above ground is a good one ;)

I've seen the DLA form...long but hardly stressfull. Like I said...I'll call them but pretty sure they'll say no chance but they're the experts....this 'stress' is more than likely depression so who knows how long it will last?

The DLA form was the most stressful and depressing form I have ever filled in. I had to write down everything I couldn't do and that was truly awful as it made me realise just how disabled i am by my various conditions. With respect I think you are doing a dis-service to all those genuine applicants and whilst I appreciate you must be in a stressful situation I cannot imagine that you would be successful in such an application and it would be a waste of your time and taxpayers money in the processing of such an application
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Molly, I also find the forms stressful and depressing - it reminds me of the vast differences between my son and others of his age, and how he will never live an independent life due to his disabilities. The forms certainly know how to focus on the negative and bring clouds to your day!
  • The DLA forms are the most stressful thing i have ever done, going in to depth about my bipolar, what problems i have and how far away from being 'normal' i am, i sent mine in 3 weeks ago so i have to see if i get it, but my god it was hard filling it out.
    Is a Bipolar bear :p

Oh I love this forum....such great answers from people that can't EVEN READ....yes that means you dmg!! Who said i can't prepare a meal for myself?? As I said earlier the meals I've been preparing are ready meals/beans etc...

It so amuses me how irate people get....healy & Tobruk & SusiQ have given great answers & my thanks to them. I think I'll possibly do what Susiq says & see a benefits advisor..can't hurt can it?

    Making my day this is.....
Thanks guys....logging off this topic now.

With these responses, it seems to me he's lit the touchpaper and standing back watching the burn. Everyone else is arguing like mad, and he's warming his hands!

We all get stressed, at work, if we're unemployed-but surely all of us don't think 'right what money can we get for this'...or is it just me who thinks stress is a normal, everyday thing?

I think the OP and partner are intent on milking the system for as much as possible :(

I suspect if DLA was awarded for stress alone, evey person undergoing treatment for cancer, or living with it, would be awarded the highest level. Which of course they're not.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Agreed, along with a high proportion of the otherwise healthy working population.
