Buying O2 broadband online

Hi All

I'm wanting to switch to O2 broadband and was wanting to buy online so I can get quidco cashback but I'm having trouble just finding out how to actually go about it!

I firsts of all go to the broadband homepage, then click on the 'Buy Now' button for the package that I want which takes me to the Get broadband page, then I enter my postcode and it takes me to the page which tells me that yippee their broadband is available in my area then .... well I don't know where I'm supposed to go next! I can't see where I'm meant to go to add it to a basket then checkout!

I'm probably being quite dim but can anyone help?

You have to enter your BT landline number (rather than your postcode) to get to the page that shows you which packages you can 'add to your basket'.

If you look at the page you get that says "Hurray! You can get O2 broadband" - if you re-look at the form below, you'll notice the wording has changed and it asks for your BT landline number in order to show you the packages available to you.

Also - don't forget to clear your cookies before you use quidco and make sure you click through from the quidco website.

If you are on VM's cable service, then you will need to get an active BT line before you can take any ADSL broadband service. You can't switch to O2 from Virgin Media cable, only from Virgin National.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • The other consideration is that you want to be sure that you are offered o2 Standard/Premium/Pro (ie the "LLU" packages based on the Be/o2 kit/network) as they are the ones very few regret choosing, rather than o2 Access (a resold BTwholesale product) which is far more of a mixed bag - or "runt of the litter" as I tend to describe it as.

What is my BT landline number? I do not have a number yet as not moved into this shared house Im buying and no nobody is there with a phone line its just me So a complete waste of time and letting them know my mobile number for pin. confirm to sign up

You don't need a static IP adress.
You cannot apply for any broadband service unless you already have an active BT line. Once that is installed you can apply for 02.
Seems a bit premature trying to sign up for a service in a property you haven't yet bought?

Well like I said trying to get that deal before ends tomorrow What happens if I use my old number in a different area but same county? Is a static IP not better than a none one did I read somewhere?

There will be other deals at other times. O2 have had a series of deals since before last October.

Then whoever has that number now would get activated with O2 broadband instead of you.

There is no need for a static IP address unless you are planning on running a server where people access it and need to know your IP address, although even that can be worked around.
